Hey guys, Looking for a Good clutch shop in Melbourne with relatively cheap Prices.

I been looking around and and got some decent and no so decent prices for Exedy clutch kits. One place said $650 for labor and i Just had to laugh!

Chasers Motor works quoted me $400 for labor which is not too bad I'm assuming.

As my car is AWD, I been hearing that a Exedy cushion button clutch kit is no good for AWD cars? Some one care to shed some light on that please? :D

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Dush

hey dude,

I got a exedy cushion button in mine and its holding fine at my power and awd...cost me about 300 about a year and a half ago to get installed.

Workshop doesnt exist anymore though...

gl with it.

Dush what car ya tightarse!

Lol, its a EVO V. It a test car for the Import company "GLAM" I imported the car so they can get there RAWS approval. As no Importer in Melbourne has the license to Comply them yet. (So its gonna take ages).

But the other day i had to take her to Bridgestone to get some new rubber fitted up for compliance, RE01-R's. (@ Work shops cost of course. LOL). and on the way back i felt like "doin a launch"... and the stock clutch just slipped .. car stunk too :P

So now I'm looking for a replacement clutch. Not going factory. But some sort of race clutch kit form Exedy. But every work shops loves to charge a arm and a leg these days... :)

Yea i have spoken to Tech sport, the gave me a fairly reasonable quote but its just too far for me. I need to have the clutch fitted in a day and then bought back to my compliance work shop before 5.

That way I'm looking for cheap clutch shops in Melbourne were i can buy the kit from.

I'm interested to know how much did Techsport quote you :P . PM if you like

hey dush.. i would put the evo at chasers motorworks. they know their stuff about evos and there are plenty of evos that go down there. :( i take my car down there too. btw did u se the gunmetal 8mr with the varis widebody? that thing is a beast man.. lol.. i think 75% of cars that go to chasers are evos haha..

I bought a clutch yesterday. Contacted Northern Brakes and Clutch's in Melbourne.

Exedy 3 Puck ceramic Clutch. he wanted $895 then lowered the price to $850 and when i went to pick it up he gave it to me for $800 and a free Exedy hat :)

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
