my 1st encounter with the police in my skyline

Recommended Posts

well tonite it finally happened, I was wondering how much longer it was going to take. Nearly owning the car for 2 years and this is the first time the police have taken any interest :P

It was dark, midnight me and my friends were down the beach in a car park. There was also this other car with steamed up windows but thats not part of the story :(

All of a sudden we see headlights then high beams then a cop car. Sure enough it was the police :P

A younger officer got out and also and older officer. We said hello etc etc they asked us what we were doing then asked if we had ID on us etc we gave it to the older officer. While the older officer was taking down our details the younger officer was looking at my car. He seemed rather interested he called it a "beast" and asked "how it went". Not once did he make any reference to the P plates, nor did he question or hassel me about power etc etc. He said it was an "awesome car" :(

this made my night my first encounter with the police and it was 100% positive. :uh-huh: ,

TOG = Traffic Operations Group or Unit which ever.. They specialised in canaries and digging modified cars/cameras and not your ordinary crime coppas. You can tell from their car by looking at the lights. The normal crime coppas have 2 separate lights whereas the TOGS have 1 bar of light.

That is good police work... being friendly whilst keeping check that everything is OK.

And I can tell you now u dont want to deal with the TOG. My run in with them ended up with me 11 points down and them about $1000 up ... they didnt give me any canaries suprsiingly tho.

nah these guys werent the TOGS. Im happy about that :P

We were waiting and asked them if they were "going to bust the people having sex in that car with the steaming windows" but they told us to have a good night and didnt go over there :( could have caught a glimpse :P

ive had a few run ins with the police aswell, not up to anything dodgy : )... just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Aslong as ur not bein a nuisance or causin any trouble cops a pretty reasonable.

I just live in a dodgy area n i spose they r suspicious of 3 or 4 cars together at 2am

They usually take your details for the sake of their superiour, makes em look like they wernt sitting on their asses all day/night

In one week, i had my details taken down 3 times (not doing anything wrong, same as u, mates in carparks and such), in the last instants i actually questioned why they would take my details down even though i had not done anything wrong

i also noted if it was crime purposes

he laughed and showed me an A4 tabled sheet with details of other people and he said, quote:

"you see this sheet son? ...if i dont fill this up by the end of the night, then itll look like weve been doing nothing all night"

*shrugs*

he didnt get out of the car either, i had to tell him when m rego expired which was ironic of his sheet :D

question remains .. why did they have to get your details??

They take them down as they have a quota sheet.

They must check 'X' amount of licenses etc whilst on 'X' hour duty.

Just so they aint driving to and from Macca's all night trying pick-up chicks.

Also... yeah i agree. Lucky you didnt cop one of the pricks from TOG.

Even in the police force it'self they are know to be guys with vendetta's to everyone and everything.

But normal coppers are usually great!

Actually say night i saw two cars smoking the tyres and both NORMAL coppers just gave them warnings and let them go with nothing further.

If it was TOG ... i shudder to think.

haha, funny stuff

the other night one of my mates was doin nuts at kingspark, all of sudden cops started flashin their party lights.

He was in a supra n 1 of the cops started talken to him and the passenger about supercharged corollas (the passenger drives a Trueno with a 4AGZ)

Cops ended up given them a choice between a yellow licky or a fine... could have gone worse

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
