Hi guys,

Trying to install an aftermarket gauge in it and am having trouble removing the old oil pressure switch, how the hell does it come out? Ive tried unscrewing it by hand, but its way too tight (running low on that muscle growth protein stuff) and don't have a spanner/socket that fits over it. Not that it would matter as its just round with a notch in it.

Any tips? I need to do this by tomorrow for the track day. HELP!!!

ahh dont i feel stupid.

theres a 17mm nut in the back. no spanner long enough and got big hands so no access...

How did you end up getting it off? I am stuck with the exact same problem. Tried from top and underneath by hand and with a 17mm spanner. Because the sender is tucked in I am having trouble getting the spanner square on it, and consequently am rounding the nut :D

In a fit of rage I soaked the bastard with WD-40 but I doubt it will be enough.

ahh, yeh it was an absolute bitch to get off... had to get under the car, squeeze my hands in there somehow, than got my bro to pass me a hammer from above and slowly knocked it out. there's no easier way from what i can see, just need a really skinny and long 17mm spanner and patience i guess.

my local tuning shop quoted me $50 to install the whole lot in to the car so that's not a bad price i guess, just i needed it done the night before a track day.

good luck with it!

Thanks for the reply Marko. I finally got it!, and it wasn't too hard with the right tools.

I ended up using the following beast of a tool combination:

Economy Strap Oil Filter Wrench (1/2" socket with ring strap) -to- small extension bar -to- 1/2" universal joint -to- 450mm 1/2" extension bar -to- 1/2" Ratchet.

This allowed me to get the 1/2" bar up and above the intake plenum and thus put some nice leverage on it. Even with all that shit it still wasnt going to give up without a fight, had to swap Ratchet for Breaker Bar :D
