Hey Guys.

Just recieved my new GTR style spoiler and Front Lip and im looking for some ideas for when its painted.

Now being a silver Skyline. The standard option is to paint both parts silver. But im really keen on the idea of making the centre part of the front lip (i.e below the intercooler) Black/Gunmetal and then silver for the rest, and having the Spoiler Silver with the Black/Gunmetal blade.

Just wondering if anyone has any photos of skylines with either painted or even Carbon blades on their wings OR has a photo of a skyline with a blacked out centre part of the frontbar to help clarify my ideas. (Repainting because im not happy is too expensive). What are everyones thoughts?

Heres a pic of the very quick trial fit. Please excuse the lack of straightness, and the rear Spoiler only sticks up because it is balancing on top of the factory wing. lol. Also excuse the wheels. Got one of them "screwed" on the way home from town the other day. So the whole lot are changed back for now. grrr

Leave the front lip matte black imo, i've found that by having a coloured lip [in my case, it was burgandy] its more obvious when you scrape it. If you have a matte black lip then once a month or whenever you have the time you can just touch up the black paint with a brush and some paint.

you can buy carbon fibre covers for the r33 wing blade but exxy just for the look imo

I love silver cars, my first skyline was a two-tone silver and grey r33 and silver with black would look nice too :P

is this the look you're going for with the frontbar?

Hey. Yeah the GTT front bar is the exact concept i have in mind. And yeah. i shudder at the price of the carbon blade and end caps. I think it will look good. I guess im a bit concerned (in regards to the rear wing) about the black blade being taken as fake carbon and ricey.

Whereas my aim is simply to try and make it look sharp and trying to keep some form of originality, specially for a 33.

Reckon ill keep it on the books as something worth a try. Once its done (gimme a month) ill post some pics

well, you did buy a gtr style spoiler already so why not go with the flow...

:(

only joking I got a gtr style spoiler for my old r34, both R33,R34 GTR wings rock!

It's the posers who put on R badges who take it too far

I completely see where you're coming from, I never built up my GT-t to try and make it something it wasn't, just wanted a clean understated but stylish look

    • neither stumble or cut really seem to be an appropriate term....hard to explain its like a rev limiter but at 4k, but it violently shakes engine and entire vehicle as the rpms will not rise over 4k, even with slow acceleration. as soon as it hits 4k, it sounds like entire spark is lost entirely. plugs were 1.1 which I used as such, but later put in new plugs gapped down to .8 changed back after issue arose when I replaced the coils, still does it with either plug gap...damn and it was all running so good.
    • Oh how times have changed! I actually lean it out relative to my water/methanol injector duty cycle. The methanol adds a lot of fueling and you can then lean it out even more due to reduced knock.
    • Yeah my thoughts are the same, a well thought out WMI setup, would be slightly ahead of just straight E85 and you're also chemically intercooling the charged air, dropping it even further. This is why you need to add so much more fuel as soon as you spray. I remember someone taking me through their set up before (Dennis, has a R33, lives around Cabramatta - no idea if he's still around on this forum). He would target AFR 10:1 on 98, then as WMI ramped on, AFR would lean back up to 11:1. Amazingly, he did this all through his PowerFC, a relay to cut power to his EBC solenoid if there was not enough line pressure on his WMI kit. And of course, if there wasn't any boost made above gate pressure, you wouldn't be accessing the load cells with heaps of timing for WMI. One downside to that rudimentary setup, once the WMI came on, the EBC would unleash the dragon, and of course all the timing. Tyres would fry lol.
    • Shimmed or shimless, still solid, no hydraulic pump up stuff.
