Hey everyone,

I approached an importer who is manufacturing strut bars today about group buys. He gave me some prices which i belived were very reasonable with ten or more applicants. What i basically want to know is are we able to advertise a group buy on here seeing as im going to be purchasing one?? The group buy involves front and rear strut bars. Front being $120, rear being $115. These seem to appear of a high quality. Anyway if the mods have a problem let me know. If I can get at least ten buyers i'll be able to get them for this price. So basically i need 9 people as im getting one. I took some snips of some examples this arvo. They are available for s13, s14, s15, r32, r33, r34, jz80 supra and wrx. They are new, not 2nd hand.

Strut bars

Also, is there any brisbane mods that would be able to assist me with this group buy if we happen to get a fair few?

Thanks

Jayson

That's fine mate, a few people from the silvia site are in sydney too. I was thinking of sending them down to sydney together to one of the club members and having everyone pick them up from there. That way there is cheap freight for everyone. Maybe i can do the same here?

my moby is 0401 669 900 and my name is Jayson. Can be contacted via email [email protected] , pm or phone. The strut bars are made by a company called STZ automotive. They import jap parts, front cuts etc and i believe they are copys of some of the strut towers they've bought in from japan. They are very solid and still quite light. Im going to buy one myself but i can save myself some money if i get a few to buy at the same time. I'll put a list up of definates and the state your in so maybe we can organise a couple together in one courier so it's cheaper delivery. Can definates please pm me. Dont hesitate to ask for more info if you like.

Thanks

Hey Mase,

Very interested in front strut bar and just like Strutto no delivery for me either :D

And does it have to be 10 of the same strut bar (like 10 x R33 Front Strut Bar) for us to get the discount?

Or will a mixture be ok?

The great thing about this group buy is that a mixture is fine.

Check out this thread on nissansilvia.com . We will have ten easy so it's a definate go ahead.

There are heaps of people from the ACT and NSW making orders so group courier is a definate for cheap delivery. Im going to organise payment details eventually. That will happen after i put the order in on wednesday.

Strutto they are made by STZ automotive. They import cuts, parts etc as well as strut braces and other suspension parts however they have decided to start making them as well.

Thanks peeps

Jayson

Im in aswell but no delivery for me eather.. ill pick one up from whoever you wanna send in sydney.. is that ok?

I've got an R32 GTS-t, so one front strut bar for me.. thanx

Babak.

Nexus 9 and Strutto, would we be able to organise a time for you two to both come and check these out and pick them up? Seeing as i have aquired ten or more now you can come in anytime and grab them. The shop is located in northgate, brisbane. My email is [email protected] or my moby is 0401 669 900 and we can organise a time to meet there and grab them for you or at least check them out.

JimX, i need to know what type of car it's for buddy. Postage is gonna be cheap as. There are a few people in sydney buying them.

JimX and people definately wanting to buy please email me on [email protected] or pm me. I'll need .....

Name:

Vehicle: r32,33,34 180 or silvia, s14, s15 front or rear

Engine: which engine your running ie sr, rb20, 25,26, ca

State and Area: ie for sending group postage

Once i have these details i'll go request all from the supplier and if he has them all i'll send bank details and courier details. This will include who the group strut bars are being sent to and whether it is all agreed on. I won't be sending the strut bars to anybody and everybody. I'll suss it out first. I have a reliable person in the ACT and i think Zman is looking pretty good for the sydney people. So let me know people so i can put this first order in for wednesday.

Thanks again

Jayson

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
