Wow... Thanks for feedback guys. Nathan I'll definitely be organising for the Friday the 19th, since it seems to work better fridays. And general talk of a monthly cruise sounds good.

Meet at 9.00pm

SOR: Tobin do you wanna take this one?

Leech Hwy McDonalds

NOR:

Citywest carpark.

*I may see if I can shanghai another friend to set up a meet point further out towards the hills, so if anybody's interested hit us up with a comment so we can work out numbers*

Everybody's both welcomed and encouraged to bring friends and non-SAU import drivers, whether as passengers or drivers :P

All 'round should be fun.

lol this is the funniest cruise thread I've read *shakes head* tsk tsk little kiddies. Glad you decided against Northbridge omg and Rockeby Road? Wooo Speed Bumps ftl !!!

I won't make it to this one it looks like a fail

Best advice I and anyone on here would give you (as I think it's been previously mentioned) make sure you run the cruise before you post it, you'll know what does and doesnt' work! If you have a 'bright' idea like ermm crowded places, go run it on a friday or saturday night, if you see the obstacle and difficulty for your own car (times that by 50 - 100 cars), then be realistic and realise it's going to fail and you won't look liek a bunch of try hard kids trying to make a cruise name for yourselves...

If this one goes well and gets good feeback, I'll come on the next

Good luck

:):););)

Don't worry ill go through North bridge for all those people disappointing they couldn't go through cos all the lamo old ppl thought it was a bad idea... :) Friday nights in North bridge are far from hectic, my goodness its hard enough trying to find a place thats good enough to persuade me to get out of my car let alone looking out for places to avoid. Friday's nights in Perth blow and not even going to start on the night during the week, that's why i assume allot of people would prefer to go on a cruise on Friday opposed to Saturday because there really nothing else better to do. Who knows maybe a few extra cars would lighten the place up?

This is MADDNESS!

well if anyone wants to meet up further north say joondalup way lol

I'm sure myself, reaper83 and probably Stealthed would be down for that. Joondalup FTW!

Okay, I just read through the thread now for the first time. Damnit...you guys put my name down as one of the organisers...but you went and did this while i was overseas. *shakes head*

like MeLSki has said... finalise the map and run it before posting in future :P

So...my calendar's free so i'll probably be there. uhm...i'm not too sure about the separate meet points though, and i haven't run through the map with you yet, so i can't really give it my stamp of approval. mmm...perhaps i'll chat to you guys this weekend.

Ahh yeah sorry about just stamping you and Cj on that man, if all fails... Blame me =]

Channel 16 again on the radios?

I finish exams on tuesday and between then and Friday I'll run all the different maps/ideas and put together the best ones for the cruise, since weeknights aren't very interesting.

Again, sorry for just landing that on you man, figured you'd want in on it.

    • Bummer...yeah i "need" something to "ease" up the work and for my driving it would be enough.    Iam counting the tune "without" turbo. I do not mean "cheap" like something from Temu around 200 USD, "Cheap" is something around 1000 USD?
    • Starter motors used to use the weight of metal (magnets) to provide torque. Now they use (more) current instead. This. It's completely normal.
    • So thing that had me stumped, but I think is OK....is that when it was up in the air, in neutral I had it running to bleed to coolant while I put the wheels back on. I noticed the rears were turning (slowly) which I'd never seen before 20250928_163512.mp4     Because there had been an issue with clutch slip due to pedal adjustment on the dyno, I assumed there was still and issue so spent some quality time upside down under the dash adjusting the pedal....but no matter what I did the wheels still turned in neutral. Even disconnected the master cylinder to pedal rod and same. In despair, I even removed the clutch slave so there was no chance of any preload causing it.....still happened. So either: 1. Something is not right in the bellhousing, or 2. Its a thing sometimes with cold, thick gearbox oil Internet says it might be 2, I hope so!
    • OK, few more things sorted and it is ready for a shakedown on 10-Oct, with one weird thing. Changed the run in oil and filter for the good stuff. 8l came out, about 8.5 went in with filter so that looks all good. Changed the starter (again), this time for a brand new one, works good. Interesting that the Taaaarks one is shorter than factory but spins harder, I guess electronics have moved on a little in the last 30 years. Will be nice to have a bit of extra space under there. Put the timing cover back on, and noted where the cam gears were set as a record.  Will need to double check the timing but it is pretty close. Also put the coil pack cover and intake snorkel back on. Exhaust Inlet Changed the water out for coolant, bled up nicely. Removed the rear brake pads (well worn factory sumitomo ones!), gave the hardware a good clean and reassembled. I've put bendix XP on the back again because the price is excellent at $150 a set and they worked well on the V37. Front pads have plenty so no issue there
