i learnt yesterday that my supposed neo engine is actually a series 2 25 meaning the ecu i have purcahsed (DE neo ecu) wont work. i am running out of time to have the car running and noone knows an ecu number for the series 2 and all i can find is series 1. now, if i was to run a DET ecu to get my car home, would i run into any problems running the det ecu on a de car????

sorry for all the questions but im running out of time and encountering more and more problems >_<

thanks in advance

i think u may be ok, possibly running a bit rich, buts thats ok.... dont fang it tho, nice and easy as the injector sizes wouldnt be as big as the turbo ones, so if u put ur foot down the injectors would probably max out...and dump a ton of fuel in the engine.

when i first turboed my car, with standard turbo, injectors, etc... the car didnt know it was a turbo, the loom didnt account for it as its still a 25de loom... but i plugged in a det ecu (s1) my car is s1.... and there were no probelms, as u dont have a turbo or bigger injectors.... thats why i imagine ur mixtures are going to be screwy... but keep it at low revs and u should get her home >_<

sorry to steal ur thunder mate but im almost 100% certain it wont work. i think a de ECU will on a DET but not the other way around.. sz. i really hope u can prove me wrong tho, gd luck

i was looking up ecu codes and found out that series 2 DE's only came out in 4wd but the engine i have is RWD by the loooks of the sump. anyone heard of a gts running a series 2

heres the site im using as reference
