lol and how much are new factory bov's gonna set me back??

just took her for a little run and it was shocking!! bov's constantly chatting, and goin no where

this special task force "if" used correctly could be a good thing.. target the big carparks at really late hours.. usually where the trouble goes down.. got a feeling alotta unmarked random cars will be cruising around for the next 3 months

The news that car crushing is coming is a concern but i think the bigger problem is the fact that they are going to make drag racing a criminal offence not that i condone it but what constitutes drag racing on the streets . this is just another open ended law that has so many implications .

^ agreed 100%

i support these laws to a certain extent, as long as they give true, law abiding car/bike enthusiasts a fair go.

give said true enthusiasts a place to go, and then crack down on those flamin mongrels who do not use it.

hey, if old codgers didnt have a place to play lawn bowls, they would complain they had no place to enjoy there hobby yeah?

same thing..... sort of :P

dont worry pete, its ok to be old and play bowls, i wasnt picking on you mate :)

last night in the news the cops had confiscated a ferrari in Melbourne for doing something like 213kmph......i mean just wtf was that knobhead thinking......i know its a Ferrari and melb has a number of tracks too

Is that the Ferrari California that was clocked at 231Km/h in Perth? If so, car was impounded for 7 days and was supposed to be used by journalists for magaizine write ups.... I think!

I thought it was in Melb....well my brain wasnt working properly as i had a long day....

but yeah it was that one

;)

:)

you know im just playin, your not old mate....... just alot older than me. :)

please dont spank me with that ban stick..for what will i do with my spare time....

seen a BA falcon this arvo with very very small led's in the rear window,15'' RJR el'cheapos and two plain clothes in it.

maybe part of the task force?

heard the news last night that the mobile speed camera units wont be having those "Speed camera's save lifes" sign near them anymore.....so they are going to be more like spies....Pete got anything to do with it ......and they are replaceing all windows with shatter proof laminate....as there have been reports of people throwing rocks and all sorts at the officer sitting inside lol

cause getting rid of the signs is going to make them infinitely harder to spot.

i mean, late model ford wagon, dark colour, illegal tint, louvers, and a couple extra ariels, generally illegally parked. yup. will never be able to notice those.

yeah i like the fact you mention "illegally parked" as most of the times they are...

oh no....no signs what are we going to do.....didnt they used to put the sign miles down the road once you've already passed the speed camera

Gotta love this.... I thought Speed cameras were meant to save lives! Ha... the whole idea of the sign was meant to get people to slow down. Guess they really just want to collect the cash then??

yeah, its pretty transparent really.

a sign makes adjusts my right foot better than a fine 6 weeks later.

oh yeah that accident was caused by you speeding....but you are going to learn your lesson 6 weeks later when you get the fine in the mail.....peanuts for brains i say

Hi Guys,

Just letting everyone know to be very careful driving around. There are new cameras out that read your registration plate. If your car is registered as a 'performance vehicle' you are likely to get pulled over soon after driving through an intersection with this cam...

Matt (Colt45) got pulled over down the bay tonight. The cop told him about this new camera that Matt had driven through, and since his car is registered as a performance vehicle, the cop went over his entire car. His car is a brand new Ralliart Lancer, no mods.... I am guessing that we have a few rexy's etc that are going to fall into this category, and with the mods that I know some of you guys have, I dont think that you are going to be as lucky...

Just got off the phone to Matt then, the cop explained to him how the system works.

Basically this box is placed a few hundred metres down the road, and scans number plates once you drive past, it sends your details to the data base and lets the cop down the road waiting know, that your vehicle is a performance vehicle and that he/she should check it out.

Matt drove past the box, few hundred metres later cop flicks his lights on and stands in the middle of the road. When asked why he was pulled over, was told "your number plates have been scanned and has come back that its a performance vehicle and we should check it out to make sure its all legit"

Big brother stuff......

latly ive seen the latest fashion for the police is to park their cars down poeple driveways at night, with a camera..

seen one next door, he just pulled up and sat there for abit, then left, is that legal? like just pulling up in someones driveway?

another time i was going to work and two cops were just parked on a road taking up both lanes, so i stopped infront of them and waited for abit, then i flashed my highbeams, they ended up moving.

like they complain about hoons, but what about them?

and cop cars arnt hard to spot. maybe if they took off 100 of their anttennas of the back window, or had lighter tint, or not parked in stupid spots.

anyways, i heard in melbourne and perth they drive done up rexies and skylines and try/provoke people to drag, then after they pull them over.

    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
    • When I said "wiring diagram", I meant the car's wiring diagram. You need to understand how and when 12V appears on certain wires/terminals, when 0V is allowed to appear on certain wires/terminals (which is the difference between supply side switching, and earth side switching), for the way that the car is supposed to work without the immobiliser. Then you start looking for those voltages in the appropriate places at the appropriate times (ie, relay terminals, ECU terminals, fuel pump terminals, at different ignition switch positions, and at times such as "immediately after switching to ON" and "say, 5-10s after switching to ON". You will find that you are not getting what you need when and where you need it, and because you understand what you need and when, from working through the wiring diagram, you can then likely work out why you're not getting it. And that will lead you to the mess that has been made of the associated wires around the immobiliser. But seriously, there is no way that we will be able to find or lead you to the fault from here. You will have to do it at the car, because it will be something f**ked up, and there are a near infinite number of ways for it to be f**ked up. The wiring diagram will give you wire colours and pin numbers and so you can do continuity testing and voltage/time probing and start to work out what is right and what is wrong. I can only close my eyes and imagine a rat's nest of wiring under the dash. You can actually see and touch it.
