Hi guys, my boot's been leaking since I got my car so I finally decided to pour water all over it and check out where it's going. Turns out it's coming out the hole's in the attached photo.... what's supposed to be in these holes? If someone could post a pic of what it's supposed to look like under the lining, that would be excellent.

Next question... I assume there shouldn't be water INSIDE the boot lid area anyway, right? So how do you think I could stop that?

Thanks guys.

My guess is that water is probably making its way under the sides of your wing and getting through the holes in the bootlid, then collecting there and pooling out the hole in your picture. Take the bootlid carpet lining off so you can see better. The holes are meant to be there.

hey

perfect timming, i had a similar problem a few days ago,

water leaking in through the spoiler holes and onto my subs

what i did was, buy some rubber sheet/mat from Bunnings,

cut it to fit between the boot lid and the spoiler... like a rubber gasket

...worked perfectly and worked as a 'dampener' for spoiler rattles

gl with whatever you do

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. I'll definately try that rubber matting idea - sounds perfect. I tried taking my wing off when I first got the car but I couldn't figure it out... I found 2 bolts (one either side) but I'm under the impression there's 2 more somewhere I couldn't see?

my wing had 2 bolts on each side, and i think 2 big clips per side too. On my wing it had rubber 'gaskets' between the wing and boot lid, from factory. My car has nothing in that hole that your wires are coming out of, other than the wires. no grommet.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
