R34 Auto And Manual

Recommended Posts

hey guys im new to this forum so was not quite sure where to post.

Lately i've been looking at non turbo'd r33 and r34 skylines on carsales, in the paper etc. I've taken a liking to the r34's especially and im saving for one.

I've got my auto licence so obviously going to get an auto r34.

I've heard there is a torque converter and it chews up some power?

Is there a BIG difference in the auto and manual n/a r34's?

If there is a BIG difference i'll think about getting my manual licence but if it isn't that noticeable ill get the auto.

Also when i get off my p's ill be chucking a turbo in it.

Thanks, Shane

Don't bother. It's more hassle than it's worth.

The best thing for you to do is to decide what you want and aim for it, even if you need to wait until you're off your P's.

Drive around in a bunky until you're ready.

1 yes autos are slower.

2 judging by the lack of knowledge on the auto/manual differnce, i assume you will not know what is involved in putting a turbo on. google up whats involved in 'chucking a turbo in'. buy NA for P plates, sell NA, buy Turbo. simple

In general, any manual car compared to its auto has that little bit more grunt. Not to mention the fun factor.

I've got a manual r34 N/A as I'm on my P's. As for you "chucking a turbo in it" don't bother, sell it and buy a turbo 34 which is what I plan to do.
