need some help

i locked my key in the car ( car is still running ! )

running the car dry cant be good for it ?

anyone know a locksmith in melbourne ?

how much is going to cost me to open it ?

if its an R32 or R33 and its still running, then just push the rubber back from the top of the door, get a coathanger or something in and flick the window down button to roll the window down, so you can get in and turn the car off/unlock the door.

duh?

THANKS ALOT MATE

cant believe i did not think of that

you saved my night

CHEERS

Anyone else wonder why there is a "STOLEN" thread every fortnight? Admitiably I did it too (Not with the car running luckily) but even luckier it was at Autobarn, had Bob and his whole team at Moorabin out there trying to open my door

Just FYI: I got qouted $100 do open my door from a lock smith...I was extremely pissed since my lock-pick was in my car, but if your with RACQ you get if free a few times every year

Actually its legal to have as long as they are in your own property (House, car, etc...) you just not allowed to have it on you in public (Unless you have a license obviously)

Just so you know, items like that being in your car doesnt count, got sent to court earlier this year for having a knife in my car :)

Was is a small pocket knife or something? I know if the blade is under a certain length (I think it's like 4 inches) its considered a "concealed weapon"

yeah i used to work at the market joint, had a stanley knife in my car, cops was freaking out about it.

Thats ridiculous I keep a Stanley knife in the back of my cars tool box....probably should go take it out

lol.... i meant how to break into skylines

Hamish does have a valid point although something that really stumps me is why isn't an alarm system the first thing you get when you buy your pride an joy? ~$400 protection for your $12,000+ investment sounds pretty reasonable to me

yeah, flicking the window down button only works if the car has the key in the ignition and it's turned to ON. and if you're silly enough to park your car like that on a day to day basis then maybe having your car stolen isn't gonna be the biggest worry in your life.

    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
    • Yes, well. Mine are less than half that. ARBs are not set to "dumb" either.
    • I would hope. But, we all know even the best companies have an issue sporadically.
