BROCKDOE
So i received a canary last night and am just curious about a few things. Staggered wheel widths as i understand are a no no, correct? (i.e 7inch front 8inch rear) Removal of the stock wing with LED brake light means i have to install a 3rd brake light in the window. Thats just my assumption but makes sence. Any one clear that up for me? Finally, I too have been cursed by the dud drivers side electric window switch, so my window doens't go down at the moment. The Officer didn't pick me up on it just thought the inspector at licensing might? Cheers, Brock. PS. if i could borrow anyones stock 33 rims or the day of inspection it would be greatly appreciated. money and/or "the carton" can be arranged. Panko
For the brake light yes you do need a 3rd one in the middle. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/284532-yellowd/#findComment-4782369 Share on other sites
doony
i didnt need an eye level on my 32 and i had mismatched rims, volk rims on the front at 7.5" and BA falcon 17's on the rear which measure at 8 or 8,5" Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/284532-yellowd/#findComment-4782416 Share on other sites
2LV8ETR
A third brake light is compulsory on vehicles 1989 onwards, no more than 1.8m from the ground. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/284532-yellowd/#findComment-4782426 Share on other sites

BROCKDOE
Cheers for info! Another quick one, I've heard people getting done for not having any water in there windscreen sprayer. My concern is on of my jets is only shooting one stream instead of two, are they that picky at licensing?? Cheers, Brock. ossie_21
They will ask you to spray them & they will have to work. The other one is probably clogged up somewhere & that's why it won't work Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/284532-yellowd/#findComment-4782714 Share on other sites
luke20t
^ as above. i really doubt they would be that picky. wheels should be fine aslong as they dont sit out the guards. might even get away without that brake light. 2LV8ETR
Yes, they can pick you for having low water in the windscreen washer bottle. If it's too much hassle to fix, leave it and see how you go. The chances of them picking it are pretty slim but just be aware that they may ask to see it working. The nozzle won't be hard to clear. My advice is spend 30 minutes to give it a go and cover all your bases. Pal
nephew is going through a yellow at the moment, they will check the center brake light but you can get them from repco . car must be 100mm of the ground at lowest point with 5 people and a full tank of fuel (cant believe that one), no staggered wheels. if you have a FMIC it must be permited Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/284532-yellowd/#findComment-4782946 Share on other sites
Levi_
Staggered wheel sizes shouldn't be a problem. I have 8" on front and 9" on rear, made it over the pits without any issues. ZXY
Staggered wheels shouldnt be a problem as some cars came out of the factory with staggered offset wheels. I may be wrong, but im sure they are fine as a mate passed the pits with staggered wheels Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/284532-yellowd/#findComment-4783167 Share on other sites

Pal
FMIC's don't need permits Nephew has to show permit for FMIC before they will take sticker off. saw his sheet of defects. he was running 18 * 9 on back and 18 * 8 on front. had to remove them Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/284532-yellowd/#findComment-4784207 Share on other sites

When I had mine done it had to be securely fixed. Others I have seen have stated that they had to be meshed. bubba
Power window issue is probably the same deal I had with mine (units may or may not be similar between 32 and 33.. I don't know). There's a little relay unit that's usually screwed to the door frame, that was dead, got a replacement from a wreck for cheap.
