Brake Line - Flare Angle?

Hi all,

I rounded a flare nut on a hardline between MC & Calipers and need to make up a new line.

I have new flare nuts and hardline but don't know what flare angle it is meant to be.

Can anyone help?

buy an ABW brake flaring tool from repco or such. it has detailed instructions and the proper tooling to do it.

I do have access to a flaring tool, which is 45° flare angle - just want to make sure if its the right angle.

the flare angle is dictated by the tool. u cant change it. u either have a double flare or a single flare. at a guess, jap hard lines will be single flare.

if u have a brake flare tool, it will pay to get a piece of brake bundy tube (metal brake line) and have a few goes at it. then when u make new line or repair ur flares will be half decent. make sure u level the end pipe with a file and remove all burrs
