Hi,

Are you selling the car with RWC?

Hi,

Are you selling the car with RWC?

JH

no RWC

but i can tell you what it would need...

washer bottle for wipers (i took it out when i move the air filter but still have the water pump/motor and hoses)

remote swich for the horn (the boss kit for the wheel doesn't meet the brass pin for the horn)

rear demister switch (it burnt out)

new fuse for the hazard lights (burnt out the other week i think)

don't have the time to run around to wreckers to grab those things at the moment but all would be easy to find and put in yourself

Profile photos are good but more photos might help: front, back, both sides, etc.

JH

I'll put some more up soon and link them to photobucket or something

F&ck sorry guys.... i do have a Job and now a new car to play with lol

got my hands on a camera today so if you're all good kids i'll put some up on Thursday!! (need to find a cable for it)

keep your pants on....

clear coat f&cked but the boot is all straight

IMG_1671.jpg

bonnet straight, paint faded, front apron gone (had a slight hit to the front along time ago - no structural damage and just need new guards)

IMG_1672.jpg

bonnet faded

IMG_1673.jpg

right side - filler cap bit dinted, rear passenger door skin needed (all internal trims in fantastic condition), front guard bit dinted(can be beaten out but why bother a new guard cost's less than the labour), bonnet raised(air flow, not out of a line)

door skin

IMG_1675.jpg

left side very straight and paint is good

IMG_1676.jpg

roof - no rust anywhere, sills cleaned regularly all seals in great condition, under side - top of all doors very clean and no rust

IMG_1677.jpg

rear left boot sills (tiny amount of surface rust about the size of a ten cent piece)

rear right sill the same

since i have the 2 cars now and can put the 30 off the road i'm going to start getting some (straight) panels and prime them up and slap em on. She'll look like a demo. derby car but i'll get in ready for some to paint..

it really doesn't need that much...

front quarters X 2

filler cap

right rear door and i'll just swap over the trims and prime it

R31 front and rear bars

then it would be ready to go to the painters to strip the rest of the panels back (some to bear metal and others just need to be scuffed back), primed, and painted..

estimating $3k cash to have the whole thing re sprayed (same colour and cost price)

Then i will be asking alot more cash for her unless someone buys it before i start

...front quarters X 2

Hi,

Where to get reasonable front quarter panels (and front apron) for an R30? The ones I've seen in wreckers (Clayton and Kilsythe) are usually damaged, body-filled or rusted?

there are plenty out there..

last time i was quoted $130-160 for straight clean undamaged panels.. and there are heaps out there.

front aprons are a bit harder to find and in my opinion look average even when they are in good condition that's why i'm going for an r31 front/rear bar

    • I hope it's actually possible. This is a write off in insurance world.
    • Yup. 2-way with shallow ramp angles. Still works.
    • That was the first session so not a lot to take from the day. It was low 20s ambient and the coolant had got to 110 (and obviously had some pressure!) so that still needs to be addressed. I haven't downloaded the data yet but will. I had refilled the auto trans with Redline DT6 because it claimed the best viscosity I could find at 100o. It wasn't really long enough to get a good feel for that; while the trans got to 100o in the session it still wasn't shifting crisply as I hoped. I think I'll try a few more sessions before judging. No steering motor overheat but I'd hope not in only 1 session! But finally the suspension; it was night and day over the standard stuff and the car was a couple of seconds quicker on the same crappy tyres, which is a huge difference. I'll stick with that and get some sway bars and a mechanical diff sorted too and see how that all goes together
    • I guess it’s partially a compromise of how my car is used, wanting to be able to switch from drift to grip with track side on-car adjustment. Also partially with the way the knuckles are set there is more static camber but less dynamic camber gain.
    • OK, so update from the track day on Friday It was a classic "an unfortunate series of events'. There were a few cars around and when i checked my mirror coming out of the fish hook I notice some smoke from the rear of mine. Looked again and it was getting much worse, I figured I'd blown a turbo or something to got off it and pulled off the racing line. However.... since it is a left hairpin into a right kink, I was on the inside of the next corner. There was a car passing me on the left and a big drop off over the ripple strip on the right......and someone had knocked the witch's hat that was on the apex about 1m onto the track. So, between those 3, I decided to mow down the cone and not damage my car/the other car. Right choice, but surprising result.  The car decided the cone was a small pedestrian so it blew the rear bonnet hinges up to protect their head in the upcoming person to car impact....I didn't see that coming and like an airbag deployment it happened super fast. Straight into the pits from there, everything was driving fine but it became clear it was a coolant leak not smoke, it was billowing up onto the windscreen. Onto the trailer and home. I'll do a separate thread about the repair (once I work out what it is ), but the immediate problem was the bonnet wouldn't open because the front was pinched onto the front bar and would not release. Ultimately we unbolted the hinge from the bonnet, pulled it back a little and it released from the front OK. "There's your problem", the top radiator hose had popped off at the radiator.
