My stock gearbox on the 32 is due for a rebuild shortly as there seems to be alot of crunching going on in there (and yes I do know how to use a clutch). I've been told it's my syncros.

But lately I've been thinking about doing a rb25 gearbox conversion instead, how hard is it? Has anyone done it before? Is it even worth it?

I know i'm gonna need a different tailshaft. Does it have to be a custom shortened 32 one?

What's involved with the speed sensor, coz i've heard it's a different setup.

Does it bolt straight onto the rb20?

I think i'm way over my head here. Too many questions, that cant be a good sign. :)

Hey man!

Yes 25 box in to 32 is fine.... I mean GREAT :D

In my cefiro i had my rb20 gearbox changed to a rb25 gearbox due to me blowing the 20 :P !

Not sure how much it cost i need to find my recipt.

and yeah the tail shaft needs to be shortened (heard a ford one can fit... not sure though if it was bu!!sh!t :D )

But over all... it IS worth it, 25boxs are made strong!

My gearbox IS rebuilt and it does that, Ive been thinking RB25 box aswell. Will keep an eye on your progress if you do it :D

Put one into my gtst years ago, was well worth it (very hard to break). I picked up the box and short shifter for $950 and the install and other parts cost around $750, need to get the yolk modified ($150) and also need different speed cable (I think they used R32 GTR). Box bolts straight up to bell housing etc.

Cool, so it's a bit easier than I thought.

i can show u how to mod the rb25 speedo sender with a navara end for a matter of $45! i did it on mine!!

So what the navara end connects into the rb20 cluster? I'll definately be hitting u up for this adrian.

Now, does anone have a good rb25 box lying around? :(

navara end fits to the end of the rb25 speedo sender.. pretty easy mod..

yea it was easy because i did it lol

i also made the cross member.

it's easy mate, just extend the existing with and get the bolt hole positions in the right spot. Adrian's is strong as feck. hehe

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
