I am doing a timing belt on an r32 gtst next weekend and have a few questions.

1. The Crank pulley bolt is 30mm?

2. The torque setting for the crank pulley bolt is 142nm then 152nm?

3. Does the crank pulley have threaded holes for a harmonic balancer puller or do you need a puller that pulls externally on the crank pulley?

4. Does the radiator need to be removed?

rb25 crank bolt head is 27 mm rb 26 is 30 mm , it has from memory 6 mm bolt holes , u have to take radiator out put car in gear handbrake up then u can undo the crank pulley bolt , turn it a few turns ( 10 mm out ) put the gear puller in place once it becomes loose take the big bolt out and the pulley will come out then .

do it up the same way torque it to 142 - 152 nm but dont worry u wont break it in a hurry .

thats true but dont expect do place the bar on the rail the starter wont have the grunt to undo it , u have to have the bar a fair way from the rail to get a bit of movement firts in order to get it undone .

i undo them with a 3/4 inch rattle gun but not everyone has these .

Surely having the car in gear and hand brake on with my 22" snap on breaker bar and a pole on the end will be enough to undo the crank bolt.
Puts too much stress on the gearbox.
the breaker bar has a lifetime warranty doesn't it? lol .
Of course. Once it breaks, its lifetime has ended.

It's like a "concrete warranty" - once it's off my concrete, what warranty?

Puts too much stress on the gearbox.

The gearbox can take over 700Nm of torque. If you can apply that much torque through a breaker bar, you should probably be in some sort of record book :D

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!

    • Good time for a carbon roof
    • Not in any way aroused by any of those, except maybe the big AMGs. And that would break my never a Euro, ever, rule.
