not a single issue!

til i got home and off the trailer. motor was cold by then and i stalled it and it refused to start... turns out it flooded it and all plugs were dripping with fuel.

might need to touch up the cold start and low temp side of the map a bit.

  • 2 weeks later...

quick little vid of my deliberate 360 on the straight after doing my extreme entry run. hahaha had hell fun and kept it pinned in 3rd and 4th around the whole track

VID

and heres some pics my team mates got for me.

Trip to winton started off like this... X2... blew out the tyre then chucked spare on and that blew out also. limped it 25k's to keith and then managed to buy a second hand tyre the right size and for a decent price too! half hour later and we were moving again.

then we hit the (wet) track... i went pretty hard straight away, as you do, it was when ity got patchy that it f**ked me right up.. that was gay as aids as it was dry on the straight and the first judged corner but mid corner/apex it turned into a mudslick... made it for very eventful final prac session and qualifying laps.

pass rides were fun... my mates loved it. but 40 each was a rip for the limited time they got.

Qualified 5th... got a bye. was loving that but i needed a run on a dry track being an interstater and all..

first battle was with ferds. nailed the first run. he made a mistake which i didnt know about and i made a mistake going too hard on the follow lap. was a re run. then on the lead lap i couldnt downchange from 4th to 3rd as the box wouldnt let at all. tried like 3 times and at that point i was too wide, and went in the mud. knew straight away that i'd lost the whole battle unless ferds stuffed up his lead run. no chance of that but i went hard and stuck as close and possible.. was an awesome run and at a few points it was damn close haha

after the losee i was kinda dejected... but you get that. thats comps for ya. got back into the spirit of things with team drift with robbo and Nathan, and we formulated a plan before hand and it worked out and we nailed two pretty awesome runs... we won the team drift but yeah we shoulda come up with a better name... for the record the name was picked ON the startline about 15 seconds before we left lol.

some other random shots.

you need some sau stickers on your car, would have said hi if i new you were on here, also did that isc car end up giving rides, it was coming on and off the track a fair bit, was going to go for a ride but i left my wallet at home, turned out it was a good thing, would have ended up in the ke70 which was struggling to link corners.

if someone wants to mail me an SAU sticker i'll happily run some. or maybe i should hit HESLO up since im doing his 33 GTR headgasket atm haha.

yeah that red ke was a bit of a suprise for me... i know i woulodnt have paid 40 for a ride.

not sure how the isc guy got into giving rides but i know his car was a bit f**ked after his tie rod snapped and they welded it back together,... wheel alignmentr wouldnt have been the best after that

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
