ey all....ok tripping me out this is....... all my indicators work.... left side flashes fine and everything...right hand side flash's fast ( like one globe is out ) but they all work..... so then i thought that maybe when i had my new front bar put on the new indicator on the front was not giving enough wattage so the system thinks one is out..... ( its one o those horizontal little things ) so i then switched the left hand side ( working fine ) into the right socket and still the same problem..... but then it gets weirder.... i pull out the rear right hand indicator and replaced it with about 3 spares i had... 2 o them made no differnce.... but one of them made the blink slow up...but still goin fast..so it was like a semi pace blink... i have no idea's... was thinking either checkin my relays.... but if one of the bulbs made it slow up then it has to be something to do with wattage.... so i also swapped out my lft rear bulb and put it in the right... still no difference.... n e help would be appreciated...this is so bloody frustrating

Hi mate, not sure if this is any assistance, but I recently had the same problem with my VE Clubsport.

Went back to holden and they had to replace the rear left light module and it fixed the problem. Wish they changed the RHS at the same time, as 1 month later, it is doing the same thing.

Bloody Holden. Anyway, there possibly might be a module that you can check.

Cheers

cheers for the reply's guys.... ahhh another thing that takes me to the rear indicator is that there was some water in it recently... yeah gotta seal it up but maybe the module got wet and is now f./#@ed ... i dunno jump out with a multimeter tomorrow and check i guess...might go and look at some new globes to knock that out aswell.... besides that... auto lecky.... grrrrrrr..........

  • 3 years later...

My old datsun had the same problem

The flasher unit was stuffed, if skylines have a flasher unit (small metal cylinder ) that sits under the dash then I reckon thats where the problem is

I just kind find the dam flasher can, found the relay though

I also read could be wrong size globes or bad earth as well.

I'll have a sus again for the can today.

Indicators still flashing fast but

Low beams fixed, bulb was out.

Will keep you guys posted on the update

On r33's the flasher is under the steering wheel behind the dash. Dont have to pull any panels off to get to it. Put your indicators and feel around for the thing clicking on and off. I changed mine to a non load dependant flasher when I put LED's in all my indicators. Works like factory

iv had this problem. did my head in.

ended up being that in my custom front bar there are 2 bulbs per indicator, and one of the two was out. Still looked like the indicator was working but one of the bulbs was out causing the fast flashing. Replaced bulb. All sorted :)

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
