I just yesterday recieved my letter from road transport saying my good behaviour conditions are finished. The wording in the letter came across as, well you have behaved yourself for 18 months feel free to go wild. LOL.

I nearly lost my P2's for not wearing a seat belt in the back seat of a car (3 demerit points).

Hired a lawyer, took that to court, won...

Got on my fulls about 2 weeks later...

1 week after that, lost my fulls for 6 months for another offence.

Lol oops.

But much better than having to do the whole P system again.

I can't wait untill I'm done with this P plates hassle lol :(. 12 months is a long time...........

Many people head out for a boost skid on the 8th may? My mate is taking his 33 so I'll be out there with him

I'll be easily 22 - 23 before I am off my P's :P.

D, back in 2007 I appealed my license already - Your entitled to one appeal per 5 years. Unfortunatly I have to suck it up and ride the bus for the next 12 months.. I guess I better not dwell on the license loss and start planning mods and restorations to the R :(

Amazing how times have changed.....def not trying to rub salt Weezy but did you know that I had my FULL licence 4 weeks after turning 16 with only 8 questions to answer right and 4 diagrams with a quick drive around the block by the local copper who used to carry mum's groceries to her car from "Toms" supermarket in Daw Park......I'd hate to be going with what you guys are going thru these days.

they definitely need to review the system

i was dealt with the same consequence, for no p plates , as i would of got if i was caught drink driving...

surely thats unfair ?

Car is booked into Walker Chassis for July :(

Full weld in cage, Heaps of bars, strut tower bracing, the whole lot :P

Got my welder mate coming down in the next couple of weeks to do seam welding, drop tank mounts and covering up the backseat from the boot :(

dont worry bout it too much mate, i have just turned 22, and i am actually stuck on my p's. i was given 3years with no points when i had just turned 18 (long story), then it got extended for no reason, when i went to get my licence back.

i have to wait until june 25th this year to go for my p2 test, but because i have just gotten into the navy, i wont be able to sit the test, as i can only come back to adeladie on weekends when i am not rostered on. they also won't let me do the test early.

my licence expires in december this year, which is when i was meant to be eligable for my full licence.

all in all, i got used to it, i got dealt with the raw end of the stick, but i wanted to drive, and this was the only way

cheers Bengi

I'm 22 and still on my p plates lol

got my l's on my 16th bday and my p's 6 months later I just got bent over hard by our amazing court system.

got my p2 not to long ago so I'm on the home stretch. About another 4 months!

EDIT: I'm the same as HELSLO. Got exstended 3 years when I was 18 and the. They chucked another year and a half for no reason!!!! I don't know why but rego office didn't want to hear about it or give me a reason to it?!

I don't mind so much being stuck on my P's... Its the inconveniance of no license as far as getting to work and gym is concerned.

LOL i too had my p's on my 16th birthday and exactly 6 months to the date received my P1's

Bah!

i have been on my p's and import s13 should be the same as me, but i have been through both systems (i had my p's before p1 & p2's came in, and i am now on my p1's due to a licence loss)

i have actually stained the window tint from sticking the little rubber suction cup onto my mum's cars windows they have been there that long lol

Yeah, I'm the same. Got my licence before all this P1, P2 crap.

Got a letter saying my licence was pending disqualification unless appealed. Appealed it, had to live on 1 point for 4 and a half years

I was better off losing my licence for 6 months, getting them back, and then getting off my P's sooner! But needed to get to work etc. so I had no choice.

I'm still wanting to know where this extra year and a half came from and what for!

Because I technically never acutally lost my licence (re: pending disqualification if not appealed) I tried to get out of the P1, P2 system. But the dude was telling me it doesnt work like that and that I did actually lose my licence. I tried everything to get out of this stupid P1, P2 crap!

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
