Huge thanx for the rims Luke, I can now stop boring my girlfriend with all the dif sizes and prices I keep seeing online and wishing I had :)

In true Awsam fashion though, and further proof even the simplest of things with cars for me are made difficult..

My jack handle snapped while putting the rims on, so my skyline is now stuck suspended until a mate cbf'd comming over with theirs lol

use your spare jack that should be in your boot.

ive done the same thing not to long ago with my sil.

Spare jack.. tick

jack handle... um.. where? lol

Doesn't matter now anyway, got a 4WD hydrolic lifter to put them on. Doesn't matter which R34 rim i put on the front, they scrape my calapers. Makes a disgusting clunking noise and messes with my steering real bad. The calaper has left a perfectly straight groove in the rim *sigh..

I'm about done with this skyline, all the simple things i've had done to it have turned into absolute nightmares, this car has me completely exhausted and I think the next thing that goes wrong I'm just gonna get rid of it and go back to driving my Calibra.

They hit the caliper? they cleared my brembo's and chad's stag. Thats odd.

Yeh was one rough ride man, I posted a thread about my problem. Maybe I have different calipers than I'm supposed to???

Maybe there's something wrong with my suspension, the front drivers side is a little spongey, and the tyer on the R34 rim seems to be touching the arm bit above the wheel very slightly every now and then.

thread has pics of the calipers, will post a pic of the groove left in the rim aswell

Hard to tell from the pic. I'll see if I've got a small spacer for you to fix it rubbing.

I've got a set of 5mm slip on spacers that luke removed off my car a few months ago that u can have for $20 if u like?

How's the vibration with a spacer on the front? I was going to take an angle grinder to the caliper and shave a couple of mil off LOL! f**kin take that!

This thread has the pic of the actual front caliper

My calibra has similar looking Calipers to the rear ones pictures in that thread, but on all 4. I thought maybe my 33 was supposed to have the same style rear ones all the way around also..

I didnt know the spacers were on all 4 wheels when I bought it, and tbh I didnt notice a difference when they were off, so I can say confidently that if you bolt your wheels up tight, it wont be an issue

Hrmn I think I'm prob just going to have to do that. Will i need to put all 4 on? Rears sit perfect as is. Are spacers illegal in SA?

yeah, both slip on and hub centric ones are illegal but paint them black and itll be harder to see.

also, depending how big of slip on spacer your get i would look into getting longer wheel studs but thats just me.

and if you use hub centric ones, get lock tight glue stuff that can be found at any car place like autobarn along with slip on spacers

hub spacers can be bought at wheelworx if your wanting them.

luke, remeber taking my 34 rims off my 33. they have some decent sized hub centric spacers on there to clear the brakes.

34 rims will also need spacers on a 32

are slip on spacers illegal? my car passed regency with em both times. never even got mentioned whilst in there.

To glue the spacer to the rim?

you use the lock tight on the bolts in the hubcentric spacers to make sure they dont come undone. they come with a different set of bolts. dont use hubcentric spacers with the 34 rims its not neccessary with the 34 rims as 5mm spacers will do the trick

    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
