Help, Bonnet not staying down

Hi can anyone tell me if the r34 skyline was recalled for a faulty bonnet latch, because mine failed at 100 kph not good!Any help on this subject would be great

not shaw if they were recalled but it might be a bit of a common thing with skylines, my r33 did the same thing a few weeks ago I was doin 120km when I went over a small bump and the bloody thing just poped, it didn't fly up or anything just realeased the catch, not good at that speed.

Well luckily for me I have never taken my car anywhere as fast as you speed maniacs

But in the event that I do, I may have to look at bonnet pins.

Seriously though, that would be a very frightening thing to have happen. did it cause much damage?

Have you guys considered previous, poorly repaired front end damage to the car? My car regularly goes over 200 on the track without any problem.

My bonnet is way secure, wouldn't budge if I tried....have you checked for small furry animals that may have lost their way through your spoiler ducting, and become trapped on the engine cover

mine didn't fly all the way up it just poped the catch, it hasn't happan since so it was probably just a one off

you shoudl be able to adjust your bonnet catch. when i put my fmic in i had to adjust my bonnet so that the mount could attach. it made it so my bonnet woudlnt shut until i adjusted it. maybe its a bit out. if it does pop up at all. i would be very worried.

give it a few pulls and make sure its fully sercure. also check that the retracting spring for your bonnet latch is firm, the spring might not be returning it full, allowing it to open. i would hate to see your bonnet laying on the highway.

That could be the problem for the last owner had a fmic fitted on the car but took it off before I bought the car ,I will check it out today.
