Hi all,

I just bought a 1993 Nissan Skyline R32 Coupe (GTS4 RB20DET) and i was wondering what modifications to do on it as I am still a P plater?

The car is basically Lowered, body kit, new heavy duty clutch and rims. Besides that, its all stock.

Any suggestions on what modifications I can do as for now?

Have a read through the forums, lots of info for modifying your Skyline here.

Good to see a new R32 GTS-4 owner on here, it's an awesome car to drive :(

As mentioned above, a turbo back exhaust would be a good place to start. Then you can look at a pod filter and go from there... All depends on how much money you have, there's no shortage of parts out there :(

wow didn't know GTS4's came with a turbo from factory

if that's the case definitely a turbo back exhaust, most systems are cat back only so you would need to source a high flow catalytic convertor and bell mouth dump pipe

then a pod filter with a heat shield or high flow panel filter if you want to keep the stock airbox

also some aftermarket management like a a/f ratio controller or programmable replacement ecu with boost controller

Thanks for the help guys.

Well, I got a pod filter installed on the car now (DRIFT brand) is that any good?

Also, can anyone recommend me a good BOV for an RB20DET which is easily bolted on the crossover pipe (replacing the stock BOV).

A good one which makes a single 'pshhh' sound.

Thanks for the help.

DR/FT...

Ok, lets just say, SAU prefer other brands then anything from Autobarn :(

But if it does the job for you then all good.

To be honest, if you are running stock boost, your stock BOV will be fine.

All those aftermarket BOVs are wank unless you are running a very high level of boost and your stock BOV can't handle the pressure anymore.

+ Now you have an air pod, the pod itself will make some kinda 'Choo' noise after your turbo has spooled and you release the throttle.

Pod filter first. to get the wOooSh sound.. Then a turbo-back exhaust.. not catback' unless u want less power. try justjap.com or gktech.com.au

get stainless steel so down the track you wont need to replace it. then get a front mount intercooler & then finally get a boost controller.. should get you close to 200rwkws.

2nd hand turboback exhaust 500$

intercooler $500

boost controller turbotech - $30

Boost gauge $50

pod filter $100

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
