just swerve at em, watch them fall over trying to avoid a car with only one hand on the bars lol

I ride my bike to work quite often 15kms-ish from Newton to Mile End and back again.

I think it'd be ridiculous to lower speed limits that significantly! It would only create more congestion, which, believe it or not is a hassle for bike riders as well. lol

Oh, and I definitely think all bikes should be registered. For example, I was pulled over on my bike by a cop for running a red light (i was midway across the intersection when it turned green) - Anyways, dont wanna cause a flame debate on whether what i did was right/wrong dangerous/fine etc.

So yeah, he pulls me over, tells me not to do it and says "this is an official warning" - He didn't look at ID, he didn't even ask my name.

So next time I get an "official warning" theres absolutely no record of the first and I can keep doing it to my hearts content until i get an anal cop and get actually fined and learn my lesson. lol

I think bikes should be registered just like any other road vehicle and should be required to follow the rules just like any other road vehicle and policed just like any other road vehicle.

Ramble complete. lol.

Well said Adam...i do think that bikes that are on the road should be registered...as we drivers have to pay the duties etc...unless the cop did an ID check like u said you can keep running red lights and keep on the official first warning as there would be no record of an official warning before....which is plain stupid i reakon....

he slower the speed limit between 2 points the more cars that will be on the road at any given time

therfore increasing the risk of accidents

Rann dosent agree with me but im not voting for him again so who cares what he thinks.

yeah i saw a bunch (15-20) of these aforementioned tools today riding up lwr nth east rd 8am taking up the whole lane riding towards the hills i only pity the poor drivers once they made it in the hills really made me think of my bumper sticker

even driving down moana yesterday, they were 4 abreast going down the mainstreet, coming up to a large rounadabout, they didnt give way or wait..they just pushed in and kept going...i have eight fingers, but i only used one when we passed them.

cocksarkers.

if people have to register bikes they wont ride them, sure they wont be in ur way but then ur gonna have a shitload more cars in ur way on the way to work, more traffic jams, less car parks etc. and what about the family people who go for weekend rides, i remember when i was younger it was a great joy of mine that me and my family would go for a ride together, if my old man had to register 5 pushbikes im damn sure we wouldnt of done it, ur gonna have more obease people, the bike industry will die, i ride bmx and downhill mtb and if the bike shops shut i wouldnt be able to get parts etc, i vote they just leave everything how it is, and just carry a sling shot for the road bike people who f**k u off!!!

thing is, people dont have a problem with your average cyclist commuter - they keep themselves alert, generally stick to the bike lane and obey the laws.

its the cadel evans wannabes in their lycra/spandex/body condoms that have the bad attitude and a self of entitlement - those are the fools that ride 3 abreast while having a good old fashioned mothers meeting while riding 40kph in a 60 zone.. its those guys who are truly giving the rest of the cyclists a bad name

-D

driving down the country highway yesterday had to get onto the oncoming lane as there were cyclist's riding 4 abreast in 5 groups.....i mean the cars are doing 110 kmph easily and to have to get into the oncoming lane i was just like WTF are you guys doing.....its a busy highway as well....as damo said minority ruining it for the Majority like RCK

    • So, before putting them in I need to understand the stock ride height. This is how I measured it: First, check the diameter of the wheel's centre cap, it was 52mm. Then put a piece of masking tape approximately across the centre and measure 27mm (half) from at least 3 sides to get a reasonable idea of the centre of the wheel cap. Mark that with a horizontal line as one measuring point. Then, directly above the wheel on the guard, put another piece of masking tape in approximately the centre. Use a string line to find out the point on the guard above the centre of the wheel cap and mark that. Then it is simple, just a tape measure to check the distance from centre of the wheel to the centre of the guard. Final results where  LF: 381mm RF: 379mm LR: 401mm RR: 400mm Pretty even considering they are 120,000klm old factory springs, lets call that 380 front and 400 rear.
    • So....knowing that I have a problem with power steering temps on track and another Wakefield day booked in next Friday, I've done the obvious thing They are very reasonably priced at $1650, considering they are a big monotube shock, double height adjustable (don't have to change pre-load to change ride height), one way adjustable damping and standard sized and customisable springs if you want something other than what comes with them. They come with 9kg/mm front and 4.5kg/mm front and I went with that as a starting point because I'll add adjustable sway bars too https://justjap.com/products/bc-racing-coilover-kit-ds-ds-infiniti-q50-v37-14-current#description Unfortunately they didn't come with rear strut tops so I've re-used the factory ones which was a bit of a pain. Also, the adjuster for the rear shock will be an absolute nightmare to get at, and while there are extensions in the kit I can't see any way you can actually attach or use them
    • I also had 2 bulbs blow at once, years ago in the stagea. made for a fun drive home. The issue was the voltage regulator had failed in the alternator and it was giving 15+ volts. Really, I was lucky all that was fried were the headlight bulbs. So, I'd suggest you check the voltage across your battery terminals with the car running and warmed up. Yes, you will need a multimeter to do so, sorry.
    • Good work to think to check that, and thanks for coming back to post up the outcome.
    • Given it happened suddenly, and when you come on boost, I'd check all your inlet - hose clamps in place and no split rubber or silicone hoses. Even the hard to get to ones near the intercooler. It's possible air that went past the air flow meter is being dumped out a big hole.
