Hey guys n girls,

New to the forums and to skylines,

Been thinking about buying one for a while but was looking at a 32 GTR since my pintara (first car) is giving me the shits and im thinking about getting rid of it.

Just got some questions and hoping you guys could help me out :P

GTR's come with a stock turbo, how much trouble would i have taking it off and fixing it up the right way to make it P plate legal. I been told that if i take the turbo off it'll ruin the car and run like shit (Worse than a 32 GTS)

Or am I better off just getting a GTS non turbo (If i;m going to do that my budget might let me go for a R33 GTS and one last thing, if i do go for a GTS do you think im better off going the R32 or 33?

Thanks in advance for the help, new to learning about the car but very eger to learn about these monsters smile.gif

Don't try to take the turbos off a gtr,    like whoever told you they are right.  If you buy a nonturbo skyline it will look nice but go a little faster than your pintara.  If you want to go fast keep you pintara and save for a turbo untill you are off you p's.

Wayyyy to many of these threads going up... just get a Non turbo while one P's get to know the skyline etc. Keep it in good condition then when your off P's sell it to another p plater and if you treated it right you will pretty much get what you paid for it back. I really think its the way to go.. dont waste money and get worse performance by taking the turbo off a car, just stupid imo

GTR's are actually twin turbo... so there are two turbos to remove... and yeh horrible for the car.... plus the law still see it as a GTR and then ur REALLY stuffed... even though there are no turbos attached to the car... plus it will barely run...

please search... this thread is 1 or 2 under yours and a bloke is just asking questions after removing a turbo from a gtst.... the outcome is pretty poor....

why would you want to do that to a gtr? just buy a na gts-4, its the same drive train as a gtr.

you could do it. you would have to check if an na rb25 exhuast manifold bolts up to the rb26 and you will probably have to get an exhuast made up for it. also you will need to get it tuned.

just unbolt all the tubo gear and plug up the oil and water feed lines in the block. then bolt up your na manifold and get the exhuast fitted. you will also have to make up an air intake pipe for it and just run a pod filter and dont forget to put the air flow senser in there. jobs prety much done just go get a tune.

other then that taking it off is fairly straght forward. but even if you did this you will be running a low-comp na motor. chances are you will have less power then a stock rb25de.

but honestly dont do it.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
