DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!

This car is NOT as advertised. I had it checked by a mechanic today and it is far from 'almost immaculate'. I rang Cam on wednesday night and told him that I wanted a full comprehensive inspection done on the car before I bought it. He told me he had some friends that worked at Bridgestone Mt Barker and that they could do the inspection for me no problem. He even told me that they owed him a few favours and would do it for free. Now initially I was skeptical as this leaves you WIDE open to a very biased report on the car. The would be check on the car was carried out on thursday, I received an email from them and I spoke to a guy named Andrew that afternoon. I asked him what condition the car was in and he told me it was in really good condition. He told me that a lot of the suspension was new and the underside of the car had no damage, the brakes etc were really good and no dramas with the exhaust. I then asked about under the bonnet. He quickly pointed out that he had only done a safety inspection and that it didnt involve much more than checking to see if the car was drivable. He even mentioned that one of the guys did the report, took it for a test drive and found the car to be faultless.

Now a full comprehensive check on the car is what I was after. This was not done so I immediately found someone independant to do this for me. It was organised for friday at the cost of $199. I rang Cam to tell him I was not satisfied with the report and had organised for an independant mechanic to go over the car for me. Boy was he not happy. He immediately became extremely aggressive towards me telling me that the car was fine and that he was a licenced mechanic and had carried out all repairs to the car when it was needed and that he was saving me $199. I insisted it be done or I would not buy the car. By this stage he was yelling at me, telling me the car was in top condition. He did eventually relent knowing that he would not sell it without the full comprehensive check being carried out.

The car was checked out today at about 9.30am. The mechanic uncovered a number of big problems with the car, all the while being abused by Cam whilst trying to do his job. Andrew at Bridgestone Mt Barker lied about the condition of the car. He lied big time.

This car has been crashed multiple times, lots of damage to the chassis rails.

Front brake pads are at 5% on the left and metal on metal on the right. The right side rotor needs replacing.

Brake fluid needs replacing asap.

Left tie rods are worn and power steering fluid is low.

Head gasket has a leak.

Intercooler is damaged but working.

Air conditioning needs to be regassed.

Needs coolant.

L.S.D is not in good shape.

Front wheel bearings are audible.

Left guard is missing bolts and is loose.

rear window tint is half peeled off.

Car is not registered.

The controls for the right window and mirror do not work very well.

Left door jam has crinkle crazing on entire section.

On top of all this I could not get the vin/chassis or engine numbers from him no matter how many times I asked for a REVS check.. He has advertised the car as having a number of new parts that do not exist.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS CAR AND THIS PERSON!!!

actually mate ,

The dodgey mehanic that you payed knew nothing, NOTHING at all,

there is nothing wrong with the head gasket, AT ALL, ( checked this afternoon by cylinder head specialist)

there is no crash damage ( the car has had a respray)

your moechanic didnt even jack the car up mate,

I like to add how he can check if the LSD is in good condition without initiating wheelspin in my car while he was driving it without me. really profesional,

The car has 3 months registration mate,

Just becuase you trust some dodgey guy that rocks up in an old beaten up ute with bald tires and rust ..

i might also add he had NO tools at all on him .

you still owe me $50 for all the running around ive done for you, witch you PROMICED to pay me,

i would advise you to get someone else to look at the car mate, its JUST him,

the brake pads are also fine , i just had a look then , and ALL the suspension bushes have been inspected by a SUSPENSION centre, witch i trust more than ur dodgey mobile mechanic with no tools ...

Also mate, you have NEVER asked me for the vin number, not once, illl quite gladly give it to any buyer, along with current rego papers, engine number and ANY checks are welcome on the car ( as long as its a reputable person ) ....

The only thing that i have found out that has stopped working is the air conditioning mate, everything above the vehicle has .

also jsut tried contacting " patrick " above,

after numerous calls he finnallly answered on private number, shat his pants when he spoke to me, and hung up ..

very adult like mate . your my hero.

The whole reason you get a car inspected is for your piece of mind you dont have too buy it. You DO NOT need to black mail the seller of the car online which is completely un proffesional. I can personally vouch for this car as i have driven it myself. The car is 15 years old of course its going to have a phew problems, what car doesent? But seriousuly LSD not being fresh what the f**k? i know i dont want to pay someone to inspect my car to do burnouts. Cam has listed the car is the price it is as their is a phew little things that need doing.

All the best with the sale cam.

Grow up Cameron. Most of your phone call attempts were during the day whilst I was at work. When you did ring it was close to midnight and you were hiding your phone ID. If you want to sell your car you must be genuine. No one expects a car of this age to be perfect and certainly not at that price. The mechanic uncovered heaps of problems that your mates at Bridgestone Mt Barker said did not exist. You have been extremely aggressive and abusive torwards me eversince I wanted the car checked by an independant mechanic.

Put the car on carsales. Some fool will come along and buy it without having it checked. You could have your mates at Bridgestone Mt Barker to help there again.

If I receive anymore phone calls or messages from you Cameron I will take the matter up with the police and file a charge of harrassment.

I think the moderators should close this thread.

Patrickd79 your a f*kkin tosser mate, what you have done is called slander but yet you will call police on cam, take ya mums tit out ya mouth and let go of ya dads penis seriously.

I too can vouch for this car, drives very nice for price asking.

    • OK, Step 3, if you need to remove the valve body, either to replace it, the TCM, or to do a more complete drain.  First, you need to disconnect the TCM input wires, they are about half way up the transmission on the drivers side. One plug and the wires are out of the way, but there is also a spring clip that stops the socket from sliding back into the transmission. On my car the spring clip was easy to get, but the socket was really stuck in the o-ring of the transmission housing and took some.....persuasion. You can see both the plug to remove (first) and the spring clip (second) in this pic Incidentally, right next to the plug, you can see where the casting has allowance for a dispstick/filler which Nissan decided not to provide. there is a cap held on with a 6mm head bolt that you can remove to overfill it (AMS recommend a 1.5l overfill). Final step before the big mess, remove the speed sensor that is clipped to the valve body at the rear of the box.  Then removal of the Valve Body. For this the USDM Q50 workshop manual has a critical diagram: There are a billion bolts visible. Almost all of them do not need to be removed, just the 14 shown on the diagram. Even so, I both removed one extra, and didn't check which length bolt came from which location (more on that later....). Again it is worth undoing the 4 corners first, but leaving them a couple of turns in to hold the unit up....gravity is not your friend here and trans oil will be going everywhere. Once the corners are loose but still in remove all the other 10 bolts, then hold the valve body up with 1 hand while removing the final 4. Then, everything just comes free easily, or like in my case you start swearing because that plug is stuck in the casing. Done, the valve body and TCM are out
    • OK, so if you are either going for the bigger fluid change or are changing the valve body which includes the Transmission Control Module (TCM), first you should have both a new gasket 31397-1XJ0A and a torque wrench that can work down to 8Nm (very low, probably a 1/4 drive one). You can probably get by without either, but I really didn't want to pull it all apart together due to a leak. First, you now need that big oil pan. The transmission pan is 450 long x 350 wide, and it will probably leak on all sides, so get ready for a mess. There are 24x 6mm headed bolts holding the pan on. I undid the 2 rear corners, then screwed those bolts back in a couple of turns to let the pan go low at that end, then removed all the middle bolts on each side. Then, undo the front corner bolts slowly while holding the pan up, and 80% of the fluid will head out the rear. From there, remove the remaining bolts and the pan is off. You can see it is still dripping oil absolutely everywhere...it dripped all night.... I got another couple of litres when I removed the pan, and then another few when I removed the valve body - all up another 4l on top of the 3 already dropped in step 1.
    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
