Hi Guys,

Just bought my first Skyline and I'm lovin' it. I'm over 40 so you could say I'm reliving the glory days of my youth, hooning around in a 240Z but my 5 kids and 1 demerit point left (don't ask) keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.

Used to do all my own work but haven't been under a bonnet in years so will probably ask a lot of dumb questions about this new age fuel injection thingy. Please bare with me if I do

Hey welcome =) young or old we're all on the same page here, so enjoy your stay and enjoy your car!

Danny

Thanks Danny. I plan to have fun with it. My wife was skeptical when I told her over the phone that I'd put down a deposit but she changed her mind when she saw it. Even the kids have become Skyline fans overnight (4 girls). Yesterday they asked if I could take them to the video store in it. When I said we already had a video for them to watch they asked if I coud drive them to the video store and back home again anyway because they were really just making up excuses to ride in it. :)

Had to break the news to my eldest (11yrs) that she won't be driving it in 5 years because of the turbo. She'll have to make do with the Nimbus

PS. Forgot to mention this is my 31st car but I intend to hang on to this one.

sorry guys. didn't realise my post had garnered any attention apart from Danny's response. That, and the fact that my wife had a baby mean I've only had time to work sleep and look after the kids the last couple of weeks. My avatar has a pic of me driving my 2nd Zed back from the Bathurst 1000 in 1990. Here's a better picture of it with some background:

Would you believe I sold it for $4,100. Have you seen the prices lately??

Here are some pics of the Skyline before I put bigger rubber on it last week:

@DRD-00F: It's a GTS-T. Not as grippy as a GTR but I console myself by steering with the throttle wherever possible :(

@Black Widow: That figure may be misleading. the first 25 were worth less, in total, than the 26th one :) One day I'm gonna make a list....

Just bought the Nissan Service manual and have the ECU -> laptop cable on order so can't wait to get my hands dirty.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. Hopefully I can contribute something to the community here, in time.

Sexy car dude... enjoy it! It's good to see some old timers running around in the 'Lines these days too.

OLD TIMERS??!!

You watch it, sonny boy! :)

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
