Awsome, if thats the case I'll marry you and have your babies :P

Gotta beat paying $400+ for a set or the quote for $1500 custom made. I wasn't sure if the patrol headers would work.

Cheers Dan

You may be able to call Stewart Wilkins Motorsport to see if the have a second hand set about, He is in Syd.

the shortening was due to the patrol having the engine mounted higher because of the front diff and 4x4 stuff. the shortening and welding etc is a no-brainer, cost me $50 at an exhasut shop

I am not useing mine though, as im turbo'ing it. I dont really want to sell them as I wanted to put them on a 2nd car oneday...

the sound,,, oh the sound

You the man :P

Sent an email off to SW Motorsport last night and they have a set of extractors off an L6 from a rally car (240k?) will call to confirm.

Best bit is there a $100 so I think I owe you a flange for your dump pipe if your keen? let me know mate :D

Cheers lads

dude they will still fit!

240z 260z 280zx patrol L28e Laurel Gloria HR30 280c 260c

all have the same exhaust flange, some round prot some squarish.

all will bolt on, may need MINOR mods to the '2' section of the '3-2-1' theme

grab em!

Seriously I wouldn't be bothered with chopping and welding. Just buy these they're well priced and made to fit.

If cash wasn't a problem I'd have got a set of these through the local exhaust shop, $400 is too much at the moment, car's getting paint shortly :bunny: . So second hand is my only option at the moment. Got some mods in mind for the exhaust anyway.

MAG86: Finished this off at TAFE today,

11mm thick, 4 holes at 9mm for M8x1.25 or can push them out to 11 for M10x1.5 studs/bolts depends what you need.

What size dump pipe are you planing on using? 54mm is less then 2.25 inch for the outlet, I can probably strech it to fit 2.50 inch pipe?

If you can get the rest of the measurments (measurements from center lines would be best) a mate at work can write a program for a CNC mill to chop them out.

i will get more info from work tomorrow. i got AutoCAD 2010 loading up right now...

But geez that looks frikin GREAT. they are VERY hard to find too...thanks for helping out!

54mm is fine, as the dump will flare out from there(plus the hole on the rear housing cover is 54mm too)

If you know the outside diameter of the pipe I can counter bore the flange 2/3rds of the way through so pipe sits inside it, instead of just being welded to the end of the pipe. Makes it a bit stronger I think, or send us your details and I'll chuck it in the post if it's all good :bunny:

Just wondering...

Did you manage to get some extractors? What/where did you buy?

JH

No luck yet mate, still searching ebay every couple of days waiting for something cheap to pop-up. Will probably end up modding 240z ones they seem to come up for sale a bit more often.

Cheers

You crazy kids and your extractors. i had to pay the full quoted price to have less noise... less attention bcos im still on silly p's. O_o

BUT... the patrol headers sound a little too good to be true.. now to hunt for some money to waste. :D

    • So..... it's going to be a heater hose or other coolant hose at the rear of the head/plenum. Or it's going to be one of the welch plugs on the back of the motor, which is a motor out thing to fix.
    • The oil pressure sensor for logging, does it happen to be the one that was slowly breaking out of the oil block? If it is,I would be ignoring your logs. You had a leak at the sensor which would mean it can't read accurately. It's a small hole at the sensor, and you had a small hole just before it, meaning you could have lost significant pressure reading.   As for brakes, if it's just fluid getting old, you won't necessarily end up with air sitting in the line. Bleed a shit tonne of fluid through so you effectively replace it and go again. Oh and, pay close attention to the pressure gauge while on track!
    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
