So i'm thinking if swapping out the already good speakers for hopefully something better. I have no idea what the wattage of the factory speakers are. From this site I have learnt the size of the front and rear. Anyway take a look below at what I am thinking of using.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid thread. But i would like a lil help. If anyone cares to share their audio set up. And if you also know the wattage of the factory speakers.

you should try read more on G35driver.com in Audio section.

There are alot of people happy with just changing out the stock speakers to infinity one with 4 ohm. As our stock speakers is taking in 4 ohm instead 2 ohm on most aftermarket speakers.

your Polk Audio DB651 seems ok for the front, but please read more on the site i gave you to confirm. Btw is yours a Bose or not?

what would happen if putting 2ohm speaker system on a factory's amp that feeds to oem 4ohm speakers? will it overload or underload?

well my car was bought used and it didn have the factory system in it. It has like an after market cd player... it has the tv screen tho. Should I take a picture? Thanx anyway I'll check the g35 site

All i know is that the lower the Ohm (2ohm or 1 Ohm) will create a more powerful sound, but less clarity hence the subwoofer. Therefore the Higher the Ohm are (4ohm or 8 ohm) will have much more clarity. Usually the 6.5" drive is to create a good mid bass therefore the 2 ohm is usefull for it, as the treble is created from the component tweeter.

I'm not 100% an audiophile, but i think that's what it is from what i learned. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Home audio is 8Ohm, Generally car audio speakers are 4Ohm, I don't know where you guys got the idea it's 2Ohm.

Some subs, in particular dual voice coils, are 2ohm so can be wired in series to make 4 Ohm or wired parallel to make 1Ohm.

There are benefits and drawbacks for each, lower Ohmage draws more power output from the amplifier if the amp is capable of running lower ohmage. The downside is sound quality is reduced. Some would say that is not so crucial at lower frequencies BUT I certainly wouldn't be going less than 4ohm on your component ( front) speakers.

P.S. The speakers you've linked to are coax. In laymans terms the tweeter is mounted WITH the midbass driver. You want a component set where the midbass and tweeter are separate items. If the 250GT is the same as the 350GT then the factory locations are Midbass in the door and tweeter in the sail panel (behind the door mirror).

LOL even more reason to upgrade :D I don't have factory speakers so can't pass judgement on them but at 1ohm the sound quality would have to suffer immensely.

I'd normally assume the midbass & tweeters have HP/LP caps and are wired in series to present a 4ohm load to the amp, If not then the factory amp is an impressive little kit to be able to load down to 1ohm :)

for what it is the average punter is happy. for the SQ nuts it sux. the doors are paralled with a cap on the tweeter. I have a spare amp here and have yet to take the top off it. its an all alloy item though the size of a VERY thick book.

    • Put a fuel pressure gauge on it. Replace the turbos. Probably completely separate issues.
    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
