If its the one I'm thinking of, its a candy apple red colour. Has a GTR front grille and Veilside style front bar. The guy lives just off Grand Junction Road so probably the same car. No, when I referred to most drag cars I meant as a whole. "Usually" they choose auto as the reliability and accuracy is better. Less clutch frying and human error (slow gear changes etc). This morning on the way to work I saw a nice white GTR R33. Black carbon fibre bonnet. Looked very nice indeed. Actually i kinda agree, F1s use auto upshifting and some even auto downshifting. less room for human error. nooot exactly dragging but still racing.
