Haltech have released the new Platinum Pro especially designed to compete with the now discontinued Power FC for the RB25DET engine.

Has anyone used this new ECU and shed any light on the features and ease of use?

I'm keen to know if this ecu has data logging and base maps for certain levels of mods done to the RB25.

Does anyone know if this ecu can be used for other RB series engines also? i.e does it contain base maps and tuning range for rb20-26-30??

I have some info passed on to me from a tuner, and been told that it has auto timing retard and fuel compensation as protection for your engine but I'm not sure how this works.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Grippy

Some of the features are:

Max 20 channels logging capability.

Base Maps can be downloaded via the ECU Manager software online.

Platinum is not in the same market as PFC, It has huge function and is great to use but most of what it does in not needed on normal road Skylines where PFC is at home. If you need something for a Hardcore car with lots to control and log you wont find better than the latest Haltechs.

Sorry to dig up a old thread but looking at getting nos and my tuner recommends getting one of these haltech platinum pros for my rb25.. i was wondering if anyone had any experience in comparing the streetability of the new haltech to a power fc? or is it only really good for a race track orientated car

Cheers

Jarrod

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
