Basically I've lost my licence a couple of months ago and the car's been sitting in the garage since. Just before that I'd done an oil change and I still have half a tank of bp ultimate in it.

just wondering if the fuel and/or oil would have gone bad in the 2 months it has been sitting ? I don't want to damage anything by firing up the engine now..

And yes the battery went flat but that was an easy fix (recharged overnight) so I just need to know about the fuel and oil ..are they safe to use after 2 months of sitting in the car?

the oil will be fine . pull the fuel pump fuse out and crank the engine untill the oil light goes out . the fuel will be alright assuming your car isnt modded and tuned up to hell?? just throw some fresh fuel in it and take it easy

whats all this about pulling the fuel pump fuse and cranking the engine ?? I dont get it. I thought fuel went rancid after a while that's why I was worried it might have lost its octane rating etc

pulling the fuse will allow the engine to crank over and pump oil around the engine without it actually firing up. another way is to simply unplug the injector harness.

as for the fuel, it will have dropped it's octane rating a bit from sitting there, so i would fill up the tank with fresh fuel and probably even put some octane booster in. i'd still take it easy for the first tank of fuel and don't go boosting everywhere.

It will be fine. Just start it.

The oil will drain just as much in a weekend as it will in 2 months.

Mine was garaged for over 3 months under a cover. I started it up and the oil light was out as fast as it always is. The filter will have anti drain back so it doesnt need to fill up 1st.

But i agree, just take it easy on the 1st tank just incase.

i wasnt gonna drive it yet (not until next months' texi) just wanted to let it run for a half hour or so to hopefully persuade all the spiders that have taken residence in and arund the engine bay to move the f*k out :D the furthest I can legally drive it right now is around the driveway which is about 10m long

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
