oh yeah forgot to add lol i just came off my p's lol and hopefully soon i'll be able to get a gtr 34 ;).

also different topic but i find it funny how i read about some ppl gettin yellow stickers for minor things when i had a massive crack over the drivers side of my windscreen and never got picked up for like a year and a half....i have fixed it now and my car is stock performance wise but have a few decepticon logos on and inside the car yet i never got picked up.....

and teh one time i did it was 4am, they lifted my bonnet to check my engine thus blocking they're view of my windscreem...;) talk about lucky....lol totally off topic but i thought it might be of some interest to someone :P

  • 11 months later...

i have 2 C210 4 doors and they are smaller in all dimensions than R33 coupes, i don't know how my grandparents managed to use this as their family car, shouldn't use it for more than 4 people + you need to have the front seats forward so people have room at the back.

*bump*

HEY ROWAN WHAT UP HOMIE!! (I don't really talk like this just giving it a go)

To OP.. 32 4 doors are quite nice imo, black always looks good coz I feel it takes attention away from the back light housings lookin a little funny (Just my opinion)

Plus if you get a black one.. and live in Perth.. then perhaps.. JUST perhaps.. I could let you in on my custom paint code for the rims I'm painting on mine.. then we could have a black 4 door 32 and a black 4 door 34.. with FUSCHIA rims.. hear that eps??

what are you talking about???

it's safely anchored on my driveway. the permits are all there. i'm legally moored.

...i should tow a sea biscuit along to the soarer cruise this saturday. for teh lulz

Can't say I ever stole BMX's although it was common practice at school that if I didn't like somebody (or a number of people) I would crack all their combination lock thingy and chain all their bikes together to the pole then play basketball on the school court just so I can enjoy watching them trying for hours to undo them all.. the best part was once or twice I would bring my own combination lock and throw it in the mix.. so after everybody had undone their individual locks.. there would be 1 spare that nobody owned.. good times..

lol i was just thinking how long would a 4 door soarer be.. I mean my 4 door 34 is a bit of a 'limo' but JESUS (Died 4 Dubstep) *inserts free plug*

Excuse my ignorance Rowan but I'm sure you mentioned that your soarer is rare in some way, please enlighten me? She looks to be in fresh condition mate, nice.. Although I do miss the Ceffie..

FUSCHIA RIMS!!! ARGGGHHH

it's rare because each of the following aspects are all rolled into the one car..

black (one of the rarer colours)

late model series three with the same engine as jzx100 (only about 3/4 in WA)

L package (top of the range with elec seats comprehensive dash screen sunroof and nicer seats)

so "from the factory" to have that combo is fairly unheard of..

but aftermarket wise is when it gets interesting...

T's project bodykit (the most uncommon and most expensive bodykit - ironic considering most people don't notice it has a kit at all)

which the bodykit has been custom made to fit the bizzare foglights - which are actually OEM parts from a Jaguar XJR) and the exhausts are OEM from the lexus IS F

obvioulsy it's got the work rims and the coilovers and all the other stuff that you can do too.. in that pic you can't see the leather interior job though - that's by Guten Bein - which is a popular retrim shop in japan - it was their demo car that they used to flex their muscle..

..the leather is the same hue of red as the mercedes CLK...

a lot of Yen was spent on my car it seems :P

but yeah - it's rare to get "all those" factors rolled into the ONE car... realistically you have to be a soarer nerd to understand..

so it's about as rare as someone ordering that combination of car is - what i do know - is that there's no other car in australia that's LIKE it. it's not another dark green 92 V8 with a copy bodykit.

while i'm ranting however - i just want to say...

in the cefiro - the biggest "buzz" i'd get is when a dudes in S13/180/R32/other ceffies would drive past and wave n say they'd love my car - that was a great feeling...

but in the soarer... the best feeling is waiting at a set of lights... and middle age guys will pull up next to me in NEW mercedes CLK / Audi TT / S class / Bmw's...

...and THEY stare at my car with green eyes... you know you've arrived when that happens... ;)

manuals were never made as Lpacks after 1995 dude :P

i don't get why people always say "should've got a manual"

...the manual is slower. the auto box in soarers is incredible.

and it's a leather seated, climate controled cruise controlled dual airbaged electric seat having luxury coupe.. why would you want to clutch and change gears???

edit: there is one guy that's got a soarer even more rare than mine.. he's from perth too and his name's josh..

it's a 1997 late model V8 Lpack with factory airbags and updated EMV... - there was only about 30 late models made before toyota scrapped the 1UZFE engines in the soarers..

and of that 30 - he's got one of the top of the range builds...

and of THAT handful.. he's got a black one.

soarers are fascinating cars (to me)

I think to properly appreciate it I'd have to see in irl.. Dunno how coz I gather you won't be rockin up at any skyline cruises etc.. What suburb are you in dude?? Maybe when I finish off my rims etc I can bring my around and we can appreciate eachothers vehicles (and POSSIBLY company)

I did noticed the foglights at the front but can't see the interior in that pic, sounds nice though.. if it sounds anything like my mates stock soarer they have a mean 'low' note to them not sure if it was his exhaust though =/

    • For these last 7 years of ownership, I've always had to use a small scissor jack under one of the front tow hooks to raise the front just enough so my low-profile jack fits under to reach my subframe jack point. I'm beginning to get annoyed of always having to do this. Are there any lower low-profile jacks that fit under the gtr lip on a dropped car?
    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
