HKS, need I say more. I have this one with a NTK Lambda sensor and mild steel trust front pipe to a high flow metal cat and the rest is a silent exhaust.

Be done with it, even if it costs u a bit more. My car was doing weird shit at idle until I changed the dump, lambda, did the aac valve and idle reset and changed the plugs and coilpacks with acouple of mates.

Nengun is your friend $325 but they sting u for delivery and time.

There is better quality out there and the topic of bellmouth to front or and the front/dump combo- you get what you pay for really.

DIY bro if you are just replacing your dump easy once you get the heat shields off, tricky space for bid hands dudes ,need deep socket too also long nose pliers. Worth it. After a fresh 100k service ,new factory gasket kit, heavy duty belt, fuel pump, N1 water pump, plugs, fuel filter the bus was alot better, alot alot better.

And I havent boosted up the car yet- im saavn for ecu &dyno time money atm or still opting to sell.

Cheapish and good quality, good gaskets, no leaks and def do the O2 sensor and thats it.

No you have to assume this is for S1 and S2

If you look elsewhere on their site the entries for Blitz mirrors that of the Just Jap -

one for the R33 and Stagea 96 - 01 (i.e. S1 and S2)

and another for R34 Skyline. Neither Blitz nor Just Jap list the Stagea with their R34 front pipes.

If its not a perfect fit for the S2 Stagea you have to assume that its a better fit than the R34 Skyline one (the R34 has a shorter wheelbase than the R33 so it is quite conceivable).

Gah... My heads spinning around now.

I dug around the garage and found a mild steel Bell Mouth Dump Pipe.. :D Must be a left over?

I rung the shop who did my cat back system (far from HKS ingineering but does the job quite fine  )

asked them IF I bolt this Dump up and drove it down to the shop with just the Cat + cat back on the car (so no front pipe) they could make a front pipe to suit for under $100. So considering front pipes start at $80 and sky rocket in price from there, I figured not a bad deal, plus no chance of her rubbing.

Ps: Yes, I'll secure the system good and tight to prevent it falling/swinging and I'll have to do an early morning dash, as to avoid police and old people, considering it'll be a wee bit noisey :D

hahahaha, i've done something like that before, just make sure there is nothing the exhaust gas will melt lol. a custom front/dump like that is probably the best way to go. its basically what i did, and as you said, no clearance/rubbing issues. can you split the cat back section so you can fit it in the wagon? or is it a one piece? i don't think there is much to secure to up near the cat.

Yeah I know the 'Awesomeness' of C.E.S but damn..$$$! I'm not chasing every last Kw the Neo has hidden inside. So any form of Aftermarket dump & front is better then the factory dump.

Well, my plan was to bolt the dump up with a new o2 sensor. remove the Front and Cat (it still retains a compliance Cat.) and get some welding rod and bend it up to secure the Cat back section to the Trans. Cross member or something near by.

Also, Yes the Cat back section is 1x piece  so no real other options. Other then trailer it.

  • 1 year later...

digging up an old post here.

so if i was was buy a dump and front pipe (or dump/front combo pipe) i would have to get one to suit R33?

if so will it bolt up to the standard cat in standard location? (if no, then given the length different would a R34GTT front pipe be the go?)

anyone with an RS4S got an issue with clearance with any of these pipes?

cheers

    • I read this and thought "ah! I will do this scissor jack on the tow point thing!" I just use my floor/low profile/costco jack and lift the car up by the tow hook itself, then slide jack stands under. Never thought about using scissor into floor jack combo :p
    • Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!
    • So, I'm back with bad news. There's no jack long enough on this planet that will reach the front subframe. If by some chance there is, it would weigh 200lb's.  I purchased a long reach jack... The damn thing weighted 120lb's and was massive. Didn't even come close, was still short at least a foot. It was a pain, but I brought it back. Next I decided HA! No problem, I'll get an Extra long reach jack. Well, I couldn't lift the box... It must have weighed 160LB's and luckily there was an open box in store. I took measurement and was still nowhere close.  Sadly I've lost hope and have accepted defeat.
    • Thanks for that tip, niZmO_Man. I think the battery is OK. It's quite a new one, but I'll check. Last time I needed a new battery, everything electronic was fine, except that there wasn't enough current to turn over the starter. I decided to order one of the partial AV system translation CDs from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. That might have some effect, or help me diagnose the date problem. 🤞
    • I suppose it was relatively stock too, the JZ motor handle most mods thrown at them without even breaking a sweat
