Registering A Car In Tasmania

Hey guys, looking to move over to tasmania in the coming months. (not a definate yet, but looking promising.)

wondering what i needa do to get my car into tasmania registration.

and what the cop situation is like over there with P platers.

no P plate restrictions, just gotta get car pit passed for road worthy :-)

whats involved with a pit pass over there?

standard road worthy stuff, lights working, seatbelts, exhaust within legal limit eg:cat, think the service tas website has all info. what kind of car you bringing down?

reckon should be fine! tassie is pretty relaxed compared to other states. if ya coming to south of the state hit up Tas Mobile Mechanics and let them check over your car, they are good bunch of blokes. pretty much as long as your car is in one piece and not falling apart it will pass. not sure what deal is with coil overs and what not but ive heard of people passing with a lot more mods! if ya wanna know some good driving roads hit me up with a PM if your south if driven almost every road and have damage to prove it lol dam fluffy animals.....

lol ill be moving in around the moonah/lutana area and have considered sandy bay i think its called.

yup :-) know all those areas. place your moving in to have a garage? moonah lutana area is ok, sandy bay is a lot closer to the city

eventually ill have a garage once i move out of my old mans house.

tasmania bad for import thefts?

can be at times, like most places really. would recommend garage in most areas just to be sure :-) or offstreet parking.
