I know they have factory HID's, but from the first pic it did still look pretty yellow. Judging from the new above pics it doesn't look that bad so maybe it was just the way the first pic turned out. What kelvin are the factory ones?

I would guess 4300k

Yeah i think my iphones camera is pretty crap with the white balance so thats why it looks yellow, but in person its very white. Starts off blue till it warms to a white. Definitely obvious when you put the high beams on and see how yellow they are in comparison.

Cheers.

Yeah those pics don't do it any justice.

Coming from a series 2 GTST to a GTR with xenons I noticed a huge difference.

Definetly not 6000k, I'd say more like 4000k.

Nice car mate! Did you take some of those photos from Marysvile/Lake Mountain??

yeah mate that's where those photos were taken. It's an awesome run up to warburton, through the reefton spur, back through marysville and then through the black spur! The reefton spur is an awesome road most of the time there is little to no traffic, great scenery and awesome twisties! I advise people to try it if they haven't been.

Cheers.

Know the feeling mate! Was the same with mine, 10 years wanting an R32 V-spec and to finally drive away in one is an awesome feeling. Had mine about 7-8 months now and it is only a weekender, which still means even just cruising into town for a coffee with a mate feels like something you have to tell people about, every drive is an event.

Hey Dan!

Car has been great, been treating me well, except for the cops. Got pulled over doing 75 in a 80 zone. Cop tells me how much he likes the car and that it looks in awesome condition really clean etc. etc. Then after all that praise he tells me to pop my bonnet and starts to find stuff to pin me for!

Asking me "So what you got running this thing Power FC?" "How come your wastegate actuators are silver colour not bronze like the stock", "Looks like the guy that did you RWC missed one vital thing, your Profec 2!" All the while i'm trying to act dumb. In the end he gets me for a boost controller and sends me an invite to join the EPA noise and emissions party. D'oh. Welcome to the world of Skyline ownership I guess. At least he was nice enough not to fine me for having a defective car (boost controller).

Hows your EVO going? Had the time to do anything to it yet?

Here is a shot of the ol' beast with my new DSLR.

    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
