Cheers for all that guys, really want to do this conversion as all the work will be done by me and my boss (im a mechanic btw). now with the transmission, dont worry about the amount of work, but is it possible to get it to fit in there, or simply impossible.

Your a mechanic , be easy for you to work out whats possible and what isnt

cheers for that mate, but would like to know before hand if anyone MAY know, it'll just save me time and i could sort another way out. i tell you what tho, i hate attitudes like yours, why are some people so stiff?, loosen up princess, if you dont know, stfu. but thanx anyways, you did help earlier.

cheers

Technical questions really should be put in the other sections mate, just go back and read the last few pages or search in WA here, you'll find there isn't alot of help here...but Disturbed does raise a point...if you're a mechanic you should have this sussed out before hand...especially a project like this. You don't want to go and buy a halfcut and body panels, only to get stuck in and find half of it may not work. Do some research before hand.

Gearbox mounting will (without a doubt) have been covered somewhere on this forum before.

LOL my reply was far from stiff .. But your right i have no idea what so ever so i just shut up now :P

Nic_A31 people here do like to help others , just the ratio of muppets to normal folk is few n far between

ill be honest, i thought everything should swap right over when i went out and bought the wreck coz there both 34's. obviously i was wrong. This project hasnt even started yet. im actually still planning on how im going to do things, hence why i ask if anyone knows if theres a chance to fit it. its ok, your right this isnt the technical section neways. i should have started it there. no worries guys, cheers for the helps.

Hey Guys,

Before i start away, i want to mention, i used the search function and couldn't find all the help i needed.

ok, so i got an R34 GT, and am going to do a complete 34 GTR conversion to it which includes the following, Engine, Gearbox, Drivetrain, 4wd system, Brembos, Suspension, Interior and the whole lot. Now i was going to say, it is going to be daily, so i would like it to be liscenced with the swap over, anyone know if much work will be needed done? i read on engine swaps there is some form, but im assuming for this there should be more than that. if anyone knows any info would be awesomeness. oh and just so u know, i have all the parts already as i just bought a 34 GTR wreck.

cheers for any input guys

I would sell your GTT and GTR wreck and buy a REAL GTR...Would work out cheaper and less hassle. What are you trying to accomplish with the conversion? Are you going to stick GTR badges on it? Dont assumke you can drive around thinking its going to be the real deal

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
