mr m00se
Guys, I know that the actual aspects of ripping out your back seat and getting registered as a 2 seater has been covered, what Im looking for is your actual experiences using the same car on a daily basis. Ie Does it mean you cop allot more attention from the cops? How did you retrim the spot where the seats were? If you have a half cage, goes it obscure you vision when you reversing? Did rego costs change? These are all the things that Im trying to weigh up before I ditch the back seat and chuck a cage in. She's going to see the track at least a couple of times a year and in the last 6 years of owning nissan coupes, ive prob had 2-3 people , max in the back of the car (yes I have no friends) ^_^ Cheers Mark Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/305630-living-with-a-2-seater/ Share on other sites

If you rego as a 2 seater and are running a half cage there is nothing the police can do regarding it. Also it is possible to still have the rear seats in with a half cage. gfunkk
The two seats in the back are pretty useless, when you do have the additional passenger or two all they do in the back is complain about how theres no room I managed to have a root in the back, is there some achievement I unlocked for managing this? KEN-R34
Have you ever took the back seats out and felt how much they weigh?? Shit all..... Also a street car with a roll cage? Why? Do you plan on rolling your car by pulling e brake turns as you exit the freeway? lol As said above if its an all out track car it makes sense but if your driving more on street just leave the seats as is. Just cut back on the hungry jacks! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/305630-living-with-a-2-seater/#findComment-5056543 Share on other sites

Just cut back on the hungry jacks! a roll cage does not only protect you if you roll your car but it increases the stiffness of the car. It makes a huge different it is noticeable! If done correctly you should have zero issue with the police, even if you don't re-rego your car as a 2-seaters i doubt you will have an issue. A friend has been driving around his R33 with a half cage (strip rear, carpet in its place) and never had an issue. another friend running a full-cage again has had no issue and he has been stop by police afew times Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/305630-living-with-a-2-seater/#findComment-5056587 Share on other sites
mr m00se
Lol, internets certainly is totally serious business. ^_^ While the car will be a daily its also going to see a decent amount of track time, might even try to do this “drift” thing all the cool kids are talking about. The car is currently stripped so that I can remove all the factory sound deadening amongst other things. Ive always been a huge fan of the minimalist look and stripped bare interiors always get me going =P Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/305630-living-with-a-2-seater/#findComment-5056600 Share on other sites
KEN-R34
a roll cage does not only protect you if you roll your car but it increases the stiffness of the car. It makes a huge different it is noticeable! Yeah I understand that but to me it don't make sense if you take the car to the track twice a year. Would it not be more practical to get some Coilovers and some decent sway bars then spending money on a cage? That would be much more effective if your looking for stiffness. Cage = Cop bait You are more likely to be asked to step out your car if they see a cage, so they can "have a look". Just my point of view its just something to think about.
