Dees and Tigers are moving in the right direction, finally. It only took a few years of wooden spoons and playing like a complete pile of shite, but they're on their way now. On the flip side the Crows have picked a great time to hit rock bottom and could end up with a spoon and SFA to go with it - although I think they'll manage to avoid it.

Awesome effort from Jack Riewoldt on the weekend, a 10 goal haul. Leading the Coleman in a team currently sitting 16th is a fair effort.

Well as good as it was to watch Freo thump Port it was an absolute tragedy to see Barlow go off with a broken leg and most prob out for Freo's finals run :-( Barlow is an absolute machine, he was currently sitting in the top 3 favourites for the brownlow medal in his first year of AFL football!!!

Yeah Deano, I'm thinking that if we don't win soon, that we will be battling West Coast for the wooden spoon.

Choco is pretty much dead man walking and his off the cuff statement in yesterday's paper was possibly intentional to help get him pushed out the door early so he can join his mate Sheeds up north.

If Choco has to go, he needs to go now so we can at least groom Ladley before they snap him up to GC.

IMO Melbourne and Essendon might have made the Crows look a little better than they actually are, so I wouldn't be too worried yet.

until we know whether the final year of his contract was paid out by the club (cause Gordon Pickard didn't dip his hand in his pocket) then everything is speculation.......it seems at this stage that it was mutual.

Oh well, looks like Sheeds has a new assistant coming soon to Northern Sydney

not just an assistant but a pioneer for a new club........he's been at the helm and the brunt of the media for over a decade now so probably had a gutfull and wants to take start enjoying life a bit more with his many kids.

If he was pushed, then I'm sure that he was paid out for next year.....like I said, only time will tell

its pretty sad. not that i really care who coaches port, he was there for a long time and picked them up from a mediocre club to one that won a premiership. nothing anyone can say can take that away from him, as it proved he as a coach had what it takes - how does this years team compare to the premiership team?

Reminds me of the unceremonial way they dumped poor Cahill... least they gave choc the option of saving face and resiging.

and pete, if he goes to sydney and they beat port next season at the end of the ladder i daresay hes going to be a very happy chap

But that is the nature of the business, everyone loves you when your winning, but i guarantee you, if Geelong loses 5 in a row, they will be calling for Thompsons head. Unfortunately it is not like the workplace where one would reward loyalty to the organisation, otherwise coaches would never bloody leave.

having said that, it's like a total reversal of form between both SA teams from earlier in the year............gonna be a loooooooong season :(

Actually Pete the Crows beat Richmond in round 7 so they only lost 6 in a row. Crows will also regain Bock, McLeod, Knights, Burton & Mackay in the next couple of weeks. If they can find form and match fitness the Crows have a very slight chance of making the 8 but will more likely shape the ranking of the final 8 but ultimately miss out on September action.

IMO Choco was shoved out the door but is getting some payments (although it is rumoured to be less than his full contract). It will be interesting to see how the players respond. Historically clubs win the game immediately after a mid-season change of coach for often than not. However, the game against the WBD in Darwin (I think) will be a tough ask.

It's nice to see the Crows above the Power though. :P

      Have you done your thinking backwards? 3 bar, 43.5 psi pressure drop being the presumed specification for an injector, means you need 3 bar upstream when they are firing into atmospheric pressure, and more upstream pressure than that when on boost (you add your boost to your rail pressure to maintain 3 bar across the injector) and you need..... less pressure upstream when you have vacuum in the manifold. So, presuming that you're idling at -10 psi, then you only need ~23 psi in the rail. I realise that I did not need to say all of that to you specifically Matt, once you'd realised your mistake. It's mostly there for complete clarity for others.

      There's one for sale at Grand Auto Wreckers in Lonsdale (SA), for .... let's suggest the sum they're asking for will make you cry. You may have to embrace the idea of modifying the rear subframe to accept some other diff. You could probably find a way to wangle a shortnose into there, with a custom rear adapter and some sort of shenanigans to relocate the front mounts. This has probably already been done by others, so there might be some guidance available as to how easy/impossible it is, out there in the googles. But you possibly needn't restrict yourself to Nissan diffs if you're going to contemplate that. There are similarish Toyota diffs, possibly some Euro ones, possibly some Seppo ones.

      The ball joint taper and arm taper have to match angle and diameter, but just doing the bushes is a much better option.....seems like the industry moved to "it is cheaper to replace the whole arm than take on the labour for changing this bushes", glad the aftermarket supports it

      Gee she looks a bit rear heavy in that first pic! Sounds like a great project with the kids, but as I guess you know R series stuff is getting hard to find and pre that is pretty much impossible these days
