RB20E head conversion to RB20DE !!

Recommended Posts

Can any one shed any light on the possibility to put a double OHC head from the RB20DE on to the RB20E engine I currently have in my R33 GTS ??

What are the steps, cost, agro, etc. What would be my power increase?

Is it better to put in an RB25, or does the brake, tyres etc have to go up, as I think the RB20DE is not as big a leap as the RB25 would it too need new brakes etc?

Look forward to your thoughts.

Mark

I don't think you'd see much of a power increase in simply replacing an RB20E head with an RB20DE.

The R33's RB20E puts out 130PS@6,400rpm.

The R32's (I don't think the R33 series had an RB20DE) puts out 155PS @ 6,400rpm. Not much of an increase - especially given all the work involved (and you may have to swap over more than just the head)...

mate your probably better off just putting the 25de in it, brakes generally dont need to be upgraded nor do wheels or tyres and its a very easy swap, i dont know about the gearbox but if its nething like the rest of the nissan range it should bolt straight up so all u will need is engine loom and computer.
