Selected plates

These are available for cars, trucks and motor cycles. They have:  

2 letters and 4 numbers (cars and trucks)  

3 letters and 3 numbers (cars and trucks)  

2 letters and 3 numbers (motor cycles only)  

3 letters and 2 numbers (motor cycles only).  

The plates are produced in the standard colours: blue letters or numbers on a white background with a green tiger logo and the number plates bear the logo "Tasmania - your natural state" written in blue.

Custom plates

These are available for cars, trucks and motor cycles. Car and Truck plates are allowed 5 or 6 characters, whereas motor cycle plates are allowed 4 or 5 characters. Each type of plate can be made up of a combination of letters and numbers or all letters or all numbers.  

The plates come in the following colour combinations:  

blue lettering on a yellow background;  

black lettering on a yellow background;  

red lettering on a white background;  

blue lettering on a white background;  

green lettering on yellow background;  

black lettering on white background;  

green lettering on white background.
