OH thanks ndawg yeah im really nooby at these kinds of stuff.

I have to ask, if you're really new to this kind of stuff why are you spending money on it?

Extractors will give sweet f**k all but an empty wallet. The gains are not worth it. I should know as I put them on my Supra.

LOL ive done most of the suspension stuff already wheels good tires, cold air intake, and im happy with the handling now i just want to push more power before i start to do internals or even do it at all, the nooby bit was that i dont know who are the suppliers or manufacturers and just wanted to know soo i can start looking.

Your choice mate, but if it were me and I wanted a faster NA Skyline I'd invest in some very light weight rims - to get a decent size and good looking you'll be looking at some serious cash. At least its something that I could keep when I sold my GTS and upgraded to a turbo model. Whereas an expensive exhaust will probably only devalue your car.

the gains i got from putting coby's on my r34 have been worth it, whats the point in putting a new system on a car if you leave the headers all restricted? i see the gains on the highway evertime i pass a car on the highway, obviously they dont make an NA into a rocket ship but they greatly allow more performance over the stock item - ive read on here you can get an extra 4 or 5 kw or something like that on the top end, which isnt much lol but something anyways for an NA

and coby's arent too much, i got mine for 280 new, but i guess yours wil cost more after shipping

different cars will get different gains from extractors. my v6 magna it didn't make a scrap of difference because the cams were the restriction not the headers. however on my SSS pulsar it made a massive difference. i probably gained 10 or 15kw up top as the stock headers started to choke the engine at about 5500rpm, but now it revs out nicely to about 7000rpm before it starts to choke a bit.

Cobys are at a good price when tehs a GB on for them. Don't bother buying just set for yourself. Not worth it at all. I know cos I did it lol. Might as well go the DKNE ones. But if your willing to spend the money then yea lol. To be honest I didn't notice much difference at all in power, but response was a bit better.

Dude, I promise you the 2JZ-GE will gain far more power from a full exhaust system than an RB25DE.

I did the works: HPC DKNE extractors, 2.5" mandrel bent custom system and high flow cat, and the gains were simply not worth the price. So why would spending the same amount of money for the same mods be any better value on a Skyline?

Kieren

the guy has brought a skyline not a supra and trying to compare the 2 cars is like comparing apples with oranges.....it just dont work. 2 different engines and 2 totally different cars.

when i put the extractors on my 34 i gained responsiveness and maybe only a kw or 2, but the responsiveness was there. I had too get my extractors custom made as there werent any that you could buy "off the shelf" at the time.

i gained 16 kW just from the exhaust alone, and i got the extractors about 6 mths after i had the exhaust put on.

simpleboyy - its your car dude so you do what you want with it and dont listen to the people that say "do this or dont do this"...... if you need any help with anything ill be more than happy to help you with whatever questions you have,

good luck :D

Sure, it's apples and oranges, but they're still both fruit.

Putting extractors on the Supra does the exact same thing. Grants you around... 5rwkw top end and grants much more power down low.

All I'm saying is the gains from extractors are minimal, and on an NA your money can be put to much better use. Whether it be suspension, decent lightweight wheels, tyres, cosmetic or just putting it away for your next car.

Depends too how restrictive the existing exhaust system is. I don't know how the supra and skyline exhausts compare, but if one is more restrictive from factory than the other, then naturally one is going to have more gains in power and/or responsiveness than the other.

Does anyone have back to back dyno results for extractors on a Skyline?

I know on the Supra forums a full exhaust (not just extractors) bumps power up from about 120-130rwkw to 140-150rwkw.

i gained about 10kw from extractors alone on my SSS pulsar, yet on my v6 magna the full exhaust (extractors and cat back) only gained me 7kw. as people have said, you can't compare the effect that extractors will have between 2 different engines
