Hi guys,

I have these injectors I bought from a guy on these forums. I intended to swap my ones out for these when I upgraded the turbo but I have decided against doing that at the moment and they are just sitting around under my bed. I have a couple of other things I would like to get so I need to sell these first.I had them shipped here from Vic. I am in the western sydney area and I will upload pics later or email me to have some sent.

They haven't been used since they came out of this guys car when he upgraded his and are in good condition.

I originally paid $100.00 for each injector. I don't really want to lose any money since I never used them, so decent offers only please. direct bolt in for the RB20DET I'm told.

6 x injectors = $600.00

My Email is [email protected]

you can contact me on 0411113875

cheers

mark

original post was deleted as I had titled it wrong. here is the post where I bought them from.

these injectors are a direct bolt on replacement for the rb20det cause i have a set in mine....u just have to slightly modify the injector so the std injector plugs fit which is a damn good thing.....

Take the plug off and put an ohmmeter across the terminals of the injector. If it's high impedance it'll read around 11 ohms, if it's low it'll read around 2 ohms.

Hi guys, RB20DET injectors are high impedance and GTR injectors are low impedance. Some aftermarket ECU's have switching to allow you to change impedance, the standard ECU doesn't.

Moving onto ed's question, I haven't flow tested N1 injectors, they aren't common enough for me to have found a set that I can have out of the car for long enough. If Mark wants me to test his, I will do it for nothing, just to add to the knowledge base. PM me if you want to do this, I will only need 1 or 2 for a day.

It would be interesting

GTR's are top fed injectors, so if the RB20 is top fed too then you'll just need a resistor pack.

I know the Supra guys who upgrade to US-Spec injectors also use a resistor pack as the JDM supras use high for some reason IIRC.

the gtr injectors are still classed as a direct bolt on cause physically they are identical to std rb20det injectors...i said they were direct bolt on cause i have aftermarket management so impedance is not an issue for me.... the impedance is no big issue anyway cause u will have to get the std ecu remapped (which means u still need resistor pack) or get aftermarket management if u wanna get the most out of these anyway...

to my understanding its not really the cost of the gtr resistor pack its the availability.... but also gerrybg has a good diagram on how to use these or any other different impedance injectors with resistors etc

Sorry, have been out of it at work for a few days. thanks for the offer on testing, but I'll pass for the moment.

I will say $500 for them at te moment and then if they don't sell then I will put them on ebay in the week sometime

cheers for the info and responses guys

  • 1 month later...

I have put them on ebay guys,

but thought I would offer them here at a cheaper price too

so if anyone wants them, $400 ono. just want to get rid of them as I'm not going to use them now and its just money sitting around that could be used elsewhere

(I paid 600 for them so this is good)

for pics email [email protected]

cheers

I have found out that whether the previous guy who sold them to me knew or not, these are not N1 Injectors, they have the std yellow cover on each one. Apparently N1 injectors are purple.

so make offers if you want them

    • Put a fuel pressure gauge on it. Replace the turbos. Probably completely separate issues.
    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
