well i have a situation in my area concerning miners.

what has been happening and 4 some time now a group of punk kids have been going around egging houses at night. and because its at night nobody has known they have been egged till the next day and most houses in my area are rendered so they need to be re painted 2 remove the egg. wait it gets better one of the houses that has been getting egged is where a girl with severe egg allergies lives and had a allergic reaction that could have been fatal. wait still getting better we call council security to do a drive by every so often to be told that we need to call the police because council security cant be stuffed. so we and many other go to the police station and ask what they can do, and all the police have managed to do is pick on my little brother when he is riding home from school checking his bag and telling him that if any more houses get egged that they would be coming after him. we have never seen a police drive by at night.

so what we have learnt from this is when it comes to ppl under 18 all that can be done is take the law into your own hands (kick the crap out of the punk kids) because nothing else can be done

like seriously what do the police expect when they do nothing

*Puts Punisher T-shit on*

PM me if you need man power

I bet you if we got together and drove around Ellenbrook, vigilante styles, we'd get in the shit for punishing these kids.

That being said, PM me too if you need a hand Bard.

I think the kids would shit their pants if there were a dozen big blokes in imports chasing them around the suburb.

Maybe find a sympathetic lawyer first

my story is similiar... told it a while ago..

driving down south st towards leeming these punk kids (prob about 16ish) were throwing rocks at passing cars, and hit my car on tabs window (old car)

(this is at the lights at bullcreek) so they could hide in the bushes... unfortunately for them tab lives in that area and i knew my way around it so i turned onto the next street and circled around to catch them...

they were still there thankfully (now i was about 18/19 so a couple years older) we caught up to them and tab ripped a bike out of one of the dudes hands whilst i grabbed him, his friends (about 3-4 of them ran away from 2 people...i mean c'mon...)

i kinda roughed up the kid and was in a bit of a rage and then eventually let him go..

end of the story... yes i beat up on a kid that threw rocks at my car, he kept saying 'it wasnt me it wasnt me' i just kept saying 'i dont care, if it wasnt you get your coward friends back here so i can get the person who did, otherwise your taking the fall for them, great friends you have'

so im not really afraid to chase kids, i prob won't report it if theyre kids but if theyre adults i will... gotta go vigilante for this shit as the police can't really help as theyre juniors

how about you just throw the rock back at thier head... just say you were returning it to where it came from....

bet they stop throwing rocks then and you cannot be charged for it cause you just threw a rock in the bush were they should not have been

They shit them self when 2 guys came running out at them LOL

Giving a kid a bit of a rough up is no longer 'discipline'...its assault, if not child abuse so you will find alot of do gooder groups would instantly get involved and you will get in a lot of trouble. Not worth the risk.

Very true but it's past time that the community has to make a stand about these issues.

It's f**king dangerous and downright stupid.

Taking a sizable rock to the head can kill you. Ergo, throwing a rock at a car is attempted murder.

I admire your restraint Bard because if that was me in your situation, I would have beat some sense into the little shits.

like i said b4 what do they expect us to do with incompetent police and counsel security that is to lazy to just to a drive by.

if the police and the counsel security are going 2 do nothing then who will. these kids can get way with murder and i cant speed 3km over the speed limit go figure.

hell they should have a curfew 4 kids under 16 so there not allowed out on there own after 7:30pm because why would a -16yr be out at that time

Surprisingly, i have a large amount of respect for police. They have a shit job to do, but someon has to do it. I always treat them with respect, talk to them politely etc etc.

I was hoping that by following the correct procedures would infact serve some justice in which their parents would find out, and maybe even be responsible for the damage repair bill. (Would the parents start caring if it cost them money out of their pocket).

I guess the biggest mistake i made here was relying on the system to work as everything was pretty black and white. Akll details were crystal clear. We knew exactly who threw the rock....even had an independant witness see and tell the police exactly what she saw. Go back and look at the sign they were hiding behind...foot prints....match it to the kid we are pointing out. How there was any doubt is beyond me. Just seems that police work is just too hard for the police these days? :)

Next time (and i hope there isnt one)...i will do it differently.

oh 14 or 15.

Both. Some were 14 and some were 15. Thats what they told us anyway.

1 of the guys was extremely scared of his parents finding out so he was quite happy to tell us what ever we asked. lol

I'm going to make a long story short... Had some punk kids (about 15 - 16 years old) on a bus abusing some old lady.

Saying disrespectful shit and spraying deodorant on her back while they where sitting behind her.

I roughed up one of the punk kids giving all the mouth "leader" and searched for ID or a phone in his bag. There was about 5 of them.

They where like "Mate, BRO, mate, you cant do that."

My reply was "Yeah and you cant abuse your elders either, learn some respect this is a f**king citizens arrest for disturbing the peace."

Anyway at this time bus driver stopped and told them to get of the bus.

I found a phone called his "mum" in phone book and told her what had happened...

She did not give a flying f**k so I told her no wounder why her son is a prick with a mother like her self.... End story.

That's about as much as I could do.... Some really retarded parents out there.

+1 for the cops being a useless pack of twats

(no offense Dan)

a few years ago, a daycare centre we had our youngest at had 2 girls walk in off the street at about 3pm, break open an internal door to an office and grab one of the volunteer daycare workers handbags. They were seen walking out with it, and a chase was given by my wife and 2 other women. They followed the offender up the street and into a house. The police were called, given a full description by the 3 witnesses (who stayed out the front of the house) and told the police where they were. About 15 minutes later the girls responsible came out of the house, threatened all the witnesses, walked up the street a little way, where they dumped the empty bag in a park bin, and wandered off.

The cops atteneded the scene at 10.30am the next day.......

This was in Midland, less then 3 minutes drive from the police station.

Only in fkn Midland.......

Cmon 8:30pm on a weekend is hardly late. When I was a kid I was allowed out till 10:30pm and that was back when I was 11, a 7:30pm curfew would be a joke

no it would be safe

because the majority of ppl under 16 that stay out past 7:30 are up to no good. eg spud guns, drinking, egging, tagging, and just being a general nuisance.

and if under 16yr olds still think it is bad when there 18 well they will have voting power and the law will be scrapped

and any way kids have MSN, facebook, myspace, SAU to communicate on so they dont need to be hanging out on the streets

a curfew would give power to the police and force parents to be responsible both good things

    • I think the concept is highlighting the various scenarios where thicker oil helps, and thicker oil potentially doesn't help and only generates heat and costs power, in turn for safety which isn't actually any safer (unless you're going real hot). If anything this does highlight why throwing Castrol 10w-60 for your track days is always a solid, safe bet.
    • Jason should have shown a real viscosity vs temp chart. All the grades have very little viscosity difference at full operating temperature.
    • Oops... I meant to include the connector  view... BR/W - power from fuse L/W - motor negative to fan control amp (and off to HVAC pin19) OR/B - PWM signal (from HVAC pin20) B --  ground
    • Yep, if you are applying filler it sounds like there is something wrong with the body lol. Safe to assume there is going to be a lot of sanding going on if your still applying fillers.  Picture a perfect bare metal panel, smooth as glass. You lay down your primer, it's perfect. (why are you going to sand it?) You lay down the colour and clear, it's perfect. No sanding at all took place and you've got a perfectly finished panel.  You won't be chasing your tail, sounds like you were prepping to start laying filler. If your happy with the body after the sanding, there is some bare metal exposed and some areas with primer, no issues at all, start laying the filler. You are safe to lay filler on bare metal or primer (of course check your technical data sheet as usual for what your filler is happy to adhere to).  This isn't a 100% correct statement. There is primer that is happy to adhere to smooth bare metal. There are fillers that are happy to adhere to smooth bare metal. Just make sure you're using the right materials for the job.  Typically if you are using filler, you would go primer, colour and clear. I've never seen any instances before where someone has laid colour over body filler (maybe this happens, but I haven't seen it before). So your plan sounds pretty normal to me.
    • I don't think there's any way someone is push starting this car.. I honestly can barely move it, and moving it and steering it is just flat out not possible. I'm sure it is, but needs a bigger man than me. I have a refurbished starter now. The starter man was quite clear and consise showing me how nothing inside a starter really should contribute to slow cranking, and turned out that for the most part... my starter was entirely fine. Still, some of the wear items were replaced and luckily it didn't show any signs of getting too hot, being unfit for use, etc. Which is 'good'. I also noticed the starter definitely sounded different, which is a bit odd considering nothing should have really changed there.... Removed and refit, and we'll pretend one of the manifold bolts didn't fully tighten up and is only "pretty" tight. GM only wants 18ft/lb anyway. I also found a way to properly get my analog wideband reading very slightly leaner than the serial wideband. There's Greg related reasons for this. The serial output is the absolute source of truth, but it is a total asshole to actually stay connected and needs a laptop. The analog input does not, and works with standalone datalogging. Previously the analog input read slightly richer, but if I am aiming at 12.7 I do not want one of the widebands to be saying 12.7 when the source of truth is 13.0. Now the source of truth will be 12.65 and the Analog Wideband will read 12.7. So when I tune to 12.7 it'll be ever so slightly safer. While messing with all of this and idling extensively I can confirm my car seems to restart better while hot now. I did add an old Skyline battery cable between the head and the body though, though now I really realise I should have chosen the frame. Maybe that's a future job. The internet would have you believe that this is caused by bad grounds. In finding out where my grounds actually were I found out the engine bay battery post actually goes to the engine, as well as a seperate one (from the post) to the body of the car. So now there's a third one making the Grounding Triangle which is now a thing. I also from extensive idling have this graph. Temperature (°C) Voltage (V) 85 1.59 80 1.74 75 1.94 70 2.1 65 2.33 60 2.56 55 2.78 50 2.98 45 3.23 40 3.51 35 3.75 30 4.00   Plotted it looks like this. Which is actually... pretty linear? I have not actually put the formula into HPTuners. I will have to re-engage brain and/or re-engage the people who wanted more data to magically do it for me. Tune should be good for the 30th!
