Hi All,

Im just after some feedback for N/A vs T for insurance. Do the prices really vary that much? I think the main cost is cos its an imported car. I think the turbo vs non turbo only equates for about 10% of the insurance cost. Does this seem resonable?

What is your expierence with insurance quotes?

With the following mods: extractors, exhaust modifications, air filter modifications, stereo, wheels, 3pt immobiliser and alarm, tinted windows I have received the following quotes

Rating 6, Just cars: $4700 full comp

Rating 5, Just cars: $2500 full comp

amazing how much difference one rating makes -- sorry i can't compmare this to turbo insurace though.

do you know how much they want for a GTST with same conditions/age etc..?

I am 25 rating 1, Just cars for a 96 GTS-T with bodykit, mags and exhaust with Viper alarm is 1,200, compared to Suncorp which is $983, however, that means that my girlfriend, 22, cannot be covered...under 25 insurance SUCKS on anything decent...

ok well, my first year, day i got my licence got my car insured for 3300 a year non turbo, they tol me 50 bucks extra a year for a turbo. Im now just turned 18 and my insurance has gone down to 2276 as a rating 4 and again 50 dollars extra if i turbo it. Go the turbo if insurance is ur only concern.

Edit: just thought id mention i also have a shitload of listed mods just for eg, big stereo, guages 17" chromies, full kit, cf bonnet, after market steering wheel etc etc...

as a rule, insurance premiums vary depending on the suburb you live in, your driving record, your insurance rating, how old you are, if you're male, if the car is auto or manual, how many cylenders and doors it has, and whether its turbo or not.

some of these are obvious, some aren't. a turbo premium is more because of the higher power output and the desirability for thieves.

    • Yeah I also looked at Plazmaman, but, it ended up alot  cheaper getting black ones through EFI when you also added in the delivery cost
    • Nice shot! They look super clean. The roof rack delete on the black one is interesting. Would like to see more pictures from different angles. It's subtle but could make quite a difference to how the car looks in profile.
