It was a good display... good effort and looooots of people... but next time.. might be a good idea to have paramedics and fire extinguishers on stand by,... if dave was seriously hurt in the R32 4 door... it would have taken a f**ckn long time to get him to a hospital.. just a thought..,.

someone rolled it!?!? .... that is not good, hope no one was hurt..any pics of the car after?

Also someone went into the crowd?

Hmm I think may need to do a safety review by the sounds of it, maybe a few more barrier's in front of the crowd but far enough away from the track so the cars dont hit it if its only a minor spin off.

Also I agree that there should be atleast paramedic's there, and maybe a few volunteers from the local CFS....it sounds like these events are really taking off and I cant wait for the next one in 4 or so months time.. it would be a shame to see the event lost due to someone getting seriously injured or killed.

Just my thoughts,

Rob.

I was quite impressed by the commodores actually.. they did suprisingly well, and Simon in his NA 4AGE AE86.

Although, I'd rather see denzo drift that saliva instead of doing a burnout and blowing it up, cos we've all seen tuff burnouts in our day...really didn't do it for me

Was run much better this time compared to last time, 5 on the track @ once is a bit of a task for a lot of amateur drifters on such a small circuit and there were a lot of near misses too.

I had a ball, and I wore Suncream :)

I'll post my pics up ASAP

Did anyone catch the 32 rolling on film cos we JUST missed it cos we were focessed on another car.....

Denzo's car was off its tits and was awesomegot his whole show on film!

And sunburnt god damn tell me about it i got murdered to death!

Yes will have to look at the safety thing a bit more in future. No matter how many times i told the Drivers to take it easy in the first and last Corners they didnt listen. The excitement must get to them?? Think I might have to pull some of them off the Track next time if they dont listen to the first warning. It would be a shame if someone got hurt .

How many times did I also have to stop the meet because of People hanging their Legs over the barriers. After JJ spun off and the rear of his Car hit the wall my heart was pounding everytime I say someone with their legs over.

For those who are interested this site has a bit about the meet also

im so ****en sunburnt. Dammit.

Also there will always be a problem with safety. The majority of the crowd wer idiots that wouldnt listen to what the organisers where trying to tell them. Also i think some of the drivers on track wer idiots, and driving stupidly at certain corners (refer JMS). But all in all it was a excellent day.

Steve: Yes it was a red one, damn clean too!! Had a vented bonnet, and yes maybe it had a black roof too. Not sure about the widebody kit, but the guards did look like they were flared. If it was a widebody, it wasn't wide enough cos about 1" of the rims/tyres were sticking out from the side of the car (when viewed from the front). Looked damn cool like that nonetheless. It's tyres were really stretched over the rims, in true drift style  The owner popped the bonnet, had some good mods. Looked like a custom plenum, pipework and low mount turbo from what I could see. Turbo looked decent sized too. Had a HUGE intercooler at the front too :D

Off the topic, I saw a damn funny car on the day. Well, it looked funny to me...but may look wicked to other people. It was a silver lancer GSR, with twin cannon mufflers...but the mufflers were separate and one was bigger than the other? I love twin cannon mufflers, but if they are the same size. Not when they are different sized. One of my friends said maybe the smaller muffler was for the external wastegate. Uhuh... ;) It just looked kinda strange to me, that's all. But each to their own. Different people have different taste.

    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
    • Not yet quite as bad as what we've seen a Jim Berry clutch do in an R32 GTR though when it decided to cut a chassis rail in half... Still very very gnarly and a great reason to avoid.
