If you own a Skyline then any attempt to get aero will odds on ruin the look of the car. (IMO) Just make it loud and move around on the track under power :(

If you want to go aero then buy a 180SX or an RX7, their styling looks cool when you go the whole hog with spoilers etc

Haven't had a chance to post it before....top work Russ :(

Awesome time :( and I want to see you repeat that at PI to see what you can wring out of it :/

Yeah the sweeping corners encourages me that I could get a 49-50 at PI with the current setup. :D

People have thought for a long time that I was on drugs for saying that a sub 1:50 should be a no brainer. NSW lad in his S14 did a 1:47 in shitty conditions and your EC time is within 1 second of his. I have long thought a 1:48 would be on the money for my car. Have only had the one run there with the wayward wheel alignment and old Bilsteins. Never got to run again with my Teins and half a clue of the gears i should be in. :(

So, you are in charge Russ, want to see sub 50s and you nibbling at the bum of all these GTRs :(

Yep.

Before the new setup too! Anyone know of PIARC or similar events at PI? I couldn't find it on their website :)

PIARC was on a couple of weeks ago, so wont be one for a while.

in fact

by aero i meant front aero. my car has no front diffuser, no flat surface, nothing.

I you ran a 1.47 at EC a 1.48 should easily be on the card for your car at PI. It'll kind of make the gtrs look pretty bad if you can do it since they have an extra 50-120kw atw more than you and 4wd and they only lap one or two seconds quicker.

If I reinforce my boot/wing you should borrow it. Last time at PI it put some nice dints in it. Might help with a bit of rear end grip.

Hanging to try left foot break tap into turn 12 under power one day at PI. Think theres some time in it. Heard a supercar guy talking about it to transfer the weight foward for that turn. Sounds the go.

:P

I think my little wing is doing the job. It held really well on turn 1 at EC.

I would like to try the supercar one though!!!

I agree, its pretty easy to do there to in my car as its all 4th gear stuff. even up over the crest . A bit of left foot braking while balancing the loud pedal seems to work well through there.

Russ, if you want to do Dutton again this year!??! We will start having to make plans. Unless you are upgrading co-driver on me

Troy.

Sorry I just read your post. I was thinking of giving it a miss this year and put the cash into my new build but if you're really keen you may be able to twist my arm...

Some in car vids of me from the event.

Good lap

Bad turn 1 and 2 haha

Troy Brisby = KEEN

Good vids Russ... need to think whose car should we use? I think your car looks more sorted :) ... will note though, you were on it through 10...NOICE! :)

You're advise is what made it a quick lap!

I just looked and dutton was in april!

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
