“Without Prejudice and/or Hypothetically speaking”

gun it down a side street, all of us have had a situation where you just gun it, its not to say its right, infact its bloody stupid, but the temptation is always there, especially when some idiot is trying to crash you. If you learn from it (which you sound you have) then thats all anyone could ask for isn't it? I'm pretty sure you know how much attention your car gets from the wrong crowd as it is, so I doubt you do many stupid things in public with that car seeing as it sticks out like dogs balls.

And who is this guy surposed to be yelling at you, like frk everyone has broken the road rules at some point includeing the old man, guess next time you see the clappadore you should accidentally walk past his car with your keys hanging out of your pocket? I try not to get worked up about road issues anymore because ive realised if they do get an opportunity to damage your car, there is nothing you can do about it so the other guy always has the last laugh, keep your cool and get him back later on where it hurts in the pocket, and he probably won't even suspect it was you.

thanks for all the advice and comments, its seems that alot of you are reasonable blokes that give reasonable responses, and anyone else who has suffered the same fate as myself, and the fire engine incident, once i got it off my chest and had support for the forum (i am not the biggest socialite) lol it made me deal with the situation better. lesson learned! on with life and ejoying the fact again that i am once again privlided to be driving a skyline with so many great individuals, hope to see some of you on the next outing

regards

  • 2 weeks later...
should of smashed him! :3some:

^^^ when i read this - i literally lost it!

i was just thinking of some guy minding his own business at work (wasn't this at work??) and some random guy pulling into his work n going off at him

and then the OP just DROPS his work n charges at the guy making this gnarly un-necessary haymaker hahaha

seems funnier in my head.

hey guys, i own a orange r32 thats pretty bloody hard to miss, i also basically am the only one that i know of definately around my area let alone nsw, anyways getting to why i brought this thread up..

i like many skyline owners am a responsible driver that drives and does everything a responsible driver should, although i give it a hit on the freeway every now and then :)

the other night after i finished work i was on my way home when a dickhead in p plates was tail gaiting me, i did the smart thing and slowed down and i even pulled over to the side of the road to let him go past only to have him go slow in front of me hit the breaks and try an coherse me into giving my car a hit. now i have a bit of work done to the car and it has a external wastegate with a screamer that also backfires flames thanks to launch control so you can imagine how loud it sounds.

anyways i thought i have had enough of this shit and i pulled out from behind him and gave it a boot around a street and then turned down another so that i left him and he could not follow me then proceeded to go home as per usual nothing different.

today while i was at work a guy came in and went off his rocker at me about how much a f**king tool i am and driving like an idiot i am gunna kill someone ect ect, of course this made me feel sick to my stomach and utterly embaressed, and i tried to explain the situation to him but all he gave me was your just like every other yound person who thinks they can do what they want, up until this stage i was being courtesy and apologizing for my actions but when he started stero typing me with all those hoon drivers ie holden commodore p platers ect i just got mad and told him where to go, low and behold i see him later on and what car is he driving? a holden gts R8 anyways enough about my rant

basically all i am saying is its not worth it, my reputation ect got hindered because of some low life, in future i will pull over and jst let them keep driving, and i had to get if off my chest as it is eating me up inside

jeremy

what wankers nearly exactly the same thing happened to me accept in my nailing off to get away from the dick who

should be around the next bend but the cops and because i didn't think i would be driving irresponsibly i had my radar

detector off so didn't pick them up and got hit i definitely learnt my lesson after 350 and four demerits

bloody 'p' platers

    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around with a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
    • Yep, this bit another local owner. I caught it before putting the transmission back into the car, what I noticed was the pressure plate fingers weren't flat and even. It's more obvious with the pull style clutch because the throwout bearing ring was visibly not flat once everything is put together. Nismo should really update their instructions to call out this specific detail. I'm not even sure the clutch as-shipped orients everything properly.
    • It ended up being that orientation of the float hub in relation to the clutch disk, when I installed it, I heard a loud click and being stupid, I decided to not take it a part and check it. The hub didn't properly align with the clutch disk and was causing the issue. Definitely an odd one! Dahtone Racing was able to fix me right up, stand up blokes!
    • Right, but I'm saying on the stock ECU measured airmass from the MAF is no higher than stock. So it's accounting for the higher flow rate iso-manifold pressure. You just have to keep turning down the boost until you're within the stock tune's load scale. If you run off the end there's no telling what will happen. This does mean there's zero benefit to the turbos you're running vs stock, if anything it's just a straight downgrade because the transient response is worse, you don't even get the ECU's boost solenoid helping to pull the wastegate closed during initial spool, and peak power is only whatever the factory map can give you before you hit the R&R corner. On a -9 I would bet that you would have to change out the wastegate spring once you have a real ECU and you're tuning it for real. I'm not saying this is a remotely ideal state of affairs, it's just a way to keep it driveable until you can get a proper tune done.
