Was it as responsive at stockie? NO.

i've been in it stock. and hell yeah its responsive

BACK ON TOPIC.

car look's nice and neat, but with a big red pod hanging out next to some Chrome piping, you'll get raped, not to mention braided lines. just stating the obvious :P

looks awesome though, and with that power figure will be awesome to to drive, what have you got planned for when you loose your license in 7months haha

lmaooo nicee i wish i had my car when i lost my license

i lost my license for 1 Yr and 3 months, its not like i stoped driving lmao they didnt catch me

Smart....

dam i dont think i could go over a year without my licence 6 months was enough . but if i do ever loose it again i will most likley put a 2.5 lt engine in the 32 . one of my mates did it with a bigger turbo and external gate set up , it was simply amazing. the power and the noise was awesome . even if i dont have to be forced off the rds i will eventually do it , just time and money i guess.

thanx for the feedback , ill bring the car to some SAU meets soon . my old man will be driving it to Vic Imports Club meet on the sun 16th may for me, then i get my licence back the following sunday .

CANT WAIT !

very nice.

Is the HKS GTRS direct bolt-on to the dump? When does full boost come in?

Also where you get those steel hoses for the catchcan

imo the airpod isnt in the best place. One bad downpour and its gonna be soaked.

i get full boost (18psi) at 4000rpm or maybe just below that in the gts4. GT-RS is the best turbo for the RB20, get one Pat you know you want one! :3some:

that said, i'm pretty happy with the HKS2510 on the gtst :) response almost like stock.....

Douche, that's what im trying to tell you, the obvious..

well obviously i already know that the standard turbo in more responsive

however what i was saying was Matt's car isnt that laggy, cosidering that amount of work done, hench why its off-tap

Well if you go back to my initial post and you will realise that i compared the gt35 to standard turbo...Thats all i was saying...I probably only said it 'cos i hate laggy tubos, probably because i had one.... 4000rpm full boost... Normal driving, going up the westgate bridge, you need to down gear, turbo wouldnt boost at all under 3k. But that all depends on set up your running of course.

Was it as responsive at stockie? NO.

Actually... you never went in my car so you wouldn't know. It had a shitload of response down low, it was just as responsive as a stock turbo but with more power everywhere. More flow, more boost, less exhaust restriction + good tuning. My point is, GT35's are not laggy if you run the right setup with a built engine and all the goodies. If you are comparing a stock turbo on a stock engine to a GT35 turbo on a stock engine, then you're just stating the obvious.

    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
