Hiya people~

was wondering if anyone here has any recommendation for a respray, looking at MATT BLACK or TOP SECRET GOLD. preferably not too far from the city. :P

-> idea in mind <- is to get an extra bonnet and trunk lid and have them sprayed in the above colours. so if any of you have a spare for a r34 GTT let me know please :D

and matt/satin black is overdone to

but you cant win them all Jamie

Over done cuz everyone thought it was a good idea to paint it on a Toyota Prius / Mazda MX5 (which I have seen) or any other car out there.

Some cars can pull it off not all.

Drift cars look good with it.

But only the Silvia / 180SX / R32 GTS-T.

You can pull it off on a R34 GTR / R35 GTR.

Lamborghini Gallardo / Ferrari 430 Scuderia / Porsche 964 / Aston Martin DB9 will look good in it as it has been done before.

Certain USA Muscle Cars can also pull it off, but not all.

1969 Camaro / Old School Hot Rods and Shelby Mustangs just to name a few.

It is a nice colour for a change, but when ppl catch on to it and think it is awesome for every car out there, that sells out the colour, which sucks!

A tough colour too, so when you have all that "Show" of a paint job, you should also have the "Go" in performance to go with it.

That's how I see it anyway.

;)

If you do get the paint job go Matt / Satin Black.

Would look tuff!

Top Secret Gold is a little wank if it ain't a Top Secret Tuned car IMO.

yeah i like the look of MATT black :D

i like the gold of TS gold, it not your ordinary gold, and it looks sweet :)

Satin Black and if you are going ahead with it, make sure you get a decent ride height (lower it) / fitment and offset of wheels to fill out your guards.

Make it look tuff!

Don't half ass the job, cuz R34's can pull off the Satin Black.

:)

white or silver

:)

White is the backup plan if Satin Black doesn't go through.

Paintwork => MiColour, without any doubt. Quality does have a fair price though.

Have you considered vynle wrapping the car matt black? Saw it on a BA, at the F1GP-Autosalon stand, it looked awesome, especially with the carbon vynle bonnet. Being vynle wrapped also means you don't need to worry about stone chips, unless they're huge :D

Personally I think Matte Black, although a very awesome colour, always looks grubby, saw an R32 with it in the flesh and didn't look as cool as I would have hoped.

Matt black is like primer Haha!

And it can leave a lot of marks / stains everywhere as I saw a KE70 in Matt Black and it was a pig of a thing :P

Satin is better IMO.

While this topic is still floating around...

I did a search but didn't really come to any conclusion. What panel shop should I get my car resprayed at?

I was almost gonna take it to Exotic Panels but heard bad stories. Anywhere else that is relatively cheap ($4500ish) but not shit? lol

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
