Yup - get a FMIC. You will need 550cc injectors .

Get a 600HP fuel pump too - joking ! !

I personally don't like EMS ECU's - what type is it ?

Possibly better with a PFC, Microtech or Wolf.

Have you got EBC ?? I would recomend this too.

GT3040 is a nice turbo

What manifold are you using ?

PS I have a GTR cooler with GTS-T mounts for sale - see the for sale section ( /end shameless plug)

This sounds like a GCG Kit... am i correct ???

Anyhow. As others have said.

You'll need Injectors and FMIC before you even can think about the turbo.

I'd also suggest getting the GT3040 with a .82 rear housing.

it wont be too laggy at all.

I'm having one fitted ATM. Will be done in 3-4 weeks.

is my calculation correct in saying that it ~250rwkw ???

Good power on stock injectors...

Bringing out a good forumla worked out here on these forums

HP = (370 / 5) * 80% = 59.2 hp Per Injector

59.2 * 6 = ~355.20HP worth through the injectors (that aint at the wheels)

The above 80% being that there is a 20% allowance for cold start/run/ etc.

And your virtually making that at the wheels and not even close to maxing the injectors...

Mind you... i cant remember what fuel pressue that the forulma worked on.

I cant remember it all :)

So if someone can work out how too allow for the fuel pressure that'd be great!

Thanks alot guys for your comments.. as i talked to my mechanin i asked him to make me one custom manifold and oil lines + custom FMIC installed and ill get the tubo and wastegate...

i heard that i can make close to 240rwkw with this setup even more.. (i wish :) ).

R31NISMOID: yes it is their deal which is pretty good as i went around and sked other dealers..

So guys any thing else that i need to be aware of?? plz let me know...

And about the injectors i might put the BOCSH 600cc on l8r on.. or if a better deal ill put it now..

At the moment all i want is a 12 Sec. car.

What you guys think i might get down the 1/4 with the above setup???

Thank you guys again for your comments..

you'll make 240rwkw with ease.

more upto 280rwkw.

But your motor wont last the distance.

So 250rwkw to be safe.

As for your run... i ran a 12.9 with 203rwkw so you'll smash a 12.5 or less easily.

Just gotta get the power to the ground

I have GT3040 BB CHRA with T04B 0.6 A/R comp housing machined out. Also Sierra Cosworth internal gate exh housing with 0.63 A/R. I'm using 0.6 comp cover so that it clears exh manifold.

All support sfuff is totally STOCK except injectors (550), FMIC and Microtech. So stock exh manifold, inlet manifold, cams and throttle body.

I am getting 265rwkW (Dyno Dynamic) at 1.2 bar with power dropping off a fraction above 6300rpm, but still 250-255 at redline. I have "full boost" at 3800rpm.

I am very happy with setup but definately less responsive than stock turbo below 3500rpm . I wouldn't recommend 0.87 exh housing, would be too laggy unless absolute top end power is wanted but then only worthwhile with nice tubular exhaust. Heaps experienced tune shops here recommend 0.6 odd A/R, heaps of power can still be made.

So that's the only other thing, I reckon mine would respond really well to nicer exh manifold.

Hey INSANT, could you post a couple more pics of teh manifold? Like one from the other side please? Just curious about the GCG manifolds and how the runners are shaped + welded. Thansk!

I snapped that pic just before it got put on the car about 1 month ago. I had a few problems with the manifold because when we first tried to bolt it to the head it would not seal properly, so it had to be taken off and refaced. They we reinstalled it and when the turbo was bolted on the exh housing was touching the block because the flange on the manifold was slighly angled towards the block, so the turbo had to come off and flange modified to the exh wouldnt touch. Finially its all back together and should have the braided lines and new dumps etc finished. I only had my camera there the first time.

I would not recommend this manifold, and its not a gcg manifold or turbo. I just hope it works well!

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.

    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
